Who Unofficially Invented "Pumpkin Spice"?

    There has to be some history behind pumpkin and spice colliding.

    This is bothering me.

    I want to meet the person behind this collaboration.

    it must have been since i grew up, since when i was little, it was just cinnamon and nutmeg.
    i mean i don't remember anything being called pumpkin spice, those are just what people used when they made something with pumpkin in it.

    Pumpkin (uncooked) already tastes and smells like a disaster.

    Adding spice of any sort to an already crappy tasting item seems a waste of time and effort to me.

  11. My mom makes a pie like this every year at Thanksgiving. I never touch it..but I do enjoy the apple and cherry pies she makes.
