So you are telling me it's upsetting that there is a rude and dismissive term for you? A term that implies due to age you are just nor smart enough to deal with the world. Have you tried looking in the mirror? The whole point of the "slurs" used against millennials and Gen Z is to make us feel this way. Because you were born when you were you had a work ethic and a true understanding of reality. It's used the same against you. You don't like socialism or deny global warming? OK boomer reality says different. If your feelings of what reality should be don't match that well tough shit. At a certain point with things like science and ethics there is a clear right and wrong. You say OK to someone who will just never get that and you move on.

Boomer has been a term forever. I did not know what a Millennial was until someone told me I was that and that I was also shit since I got a trophy for second place. By the way I still knew I lost and wanted to win. Most people my age feel that way. The trophy did not mean anything since we did not acomplish anything, They were more for our parents to feel good

The term is not enough as just a joke there is a whole culture of hate around it. People were born in the 80's and 90's and they just can't stand it! Look at them with their smart phones and gender fluidity how dare they. Boomer was what they called themselves even a few years ago with pride.

These are the same people who say free speech is what matters even if feelings are hurt and that deep down everyone has the right to say anything. Mean words for Mexicans and black people are used more often by boomers. I will not type them. It was brought to my attention it's rude and it was moderated. I see that now. You can guess what they are.

I don't think it's wise to divide society by when our parents had sex. Plenty of boomers were fighting for the same social issues I care about. I will focus on the character of the person. I do find it strange they don't see the similarities. Politically those upset with the term boomer are voting a certain way. They are seeking a certain social order. It's important to stop this train of thought as we stop all the other disinformation on all the topics that upset them.

If you think boomer is a slur I have to assume you have no real experience with slurs or the social climate they force you to live in. A mean word you don't like is not necessarily a slur. That is something I can agree on with the right wing.

A boomer is no longer OK when they stop being rude asses who hate people for their birth year I suppose. Life always moves forward. At any point in history you can find the old saying the young's values will wreck society. For example people once thought of the radio as creating the same anti-social isolation they say occurs in smart phones and teens now. A radio is not normal conversation people only listen so they don't have the skill to be a human and talk back. All these kids do is sit in front of a box that talks to them and stare. They ignore Grandma at dinner and rush off to the box.

I think what's really disrespectful is how we disregard old people and lump them all into one big collective. Well...I guess that's sort of what calling them "boomers" is, but the same goes for calling people millennials. I don't find that really disrespectful I find it disrespectful that most old people probably give three flying fucks what the younger generation is calling them. And yet we're told, "Old people are upset at being called boomers!" No, they're not. Like one old man got upset. It's not spin...it's just bullshit propagated as news.

 

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. I know most people of any age don't worry about labels or use these terms. When I can't say anyone has discriminated against me personally for my age. I just read too much stuff online about people and then bitch. In general I respect older people's knowladge I think. Many of them don't like Trump and the boomer thing is a Trump ideal. A great time when kids (them) had respect and the best life. Kids today are socialists with too many feelings. It's more a of a general alt-right voter whos over 40 now.
