Perhaps she has woken up the people who perhaps do, but as the climate has been changing ever since the world began, I am yet to be 100% convinced that it is Man who are now the worlds enemy.
I and most people contributing here now will likely have long kicked the bucket before the truth the whole truth and nothing but the truth truly becomes known.
And certainly not in the 12 years project fear talks about.

 

Children are seldom political animals, and they require a voice of their own if they are to prepare for what is to come. Waiting for their parents to solve the world's problems is no longer a viable option.

 

I think that the walkouts will lead to new generations of environmental groundbreakings. I have hope about this; primarily because when I was a lad organizations came to our school to talk about the environment. And not just a lesson in ecology, but a campaign repeating the slogan - reduce, re-use, recycle. Around this time household recycling programs were being introduced. Blue garbage bins for all your recyclable materials were part of the weekly routine.

Well, I think if we could introduce household recycling, maybe we can do something about CO2 emissions or with alternate fuel sources. And with a voice like Greta Thunberg, it's exciting!

 

Environmental destruction is about money and political power, which is precisely why a little girl has to stand up for herself. Until the shit hits the fan and hundreds of millions die, half the world will continue to be encouraged to deny it is happening. Then they will deny they were responsible.

I would never insult a great ape with such a comparison. Mindless cattle, gerbils, rats, any number of animals fit the description, but not great apes. Cattle will stampede right over the cliff, blaming each other the entire way down like lemmings. The Japanese and white US and EU populations have only 40 more years at their current rate of decline. They'll make nice minorities. Much quieter, easier to deal with.
