For over ten years I conducted my own informal survey asking two simple questions. One question was if anyone knew the simple distinction between a lynch mob and a democracy. In over ten years not a single person knew the correct answer, including Harvard law students. How much would you like to bet you don't either? No doubt you also think you have a chance of winning the lottery.

no, I don't play the lottery. but it would be nice to have $5,000 a month for the rest of my life!

I think that a lynch mob and a democracy are different. The lynch mob implies some sort of violent consequence. The democracy is a means of deciding by majority rule. Am I wrong? :(

Actually, you are closer than the vast majority of people I asked. A lynch mob can hold a vote on who to lynch next, including whether to lynch any of their own members. Democracy requires the cooperation of any significant minorities, or its a lynch mob. The reason Martin Luther King's protests were so successful, is because they revealed the lie, that blacks had any representation worth fighting for. Ten percent or more of the US having no representation worth mentioning is a recipe for war and revolution, and the FBI cracked down on them so hard its shameful.

South Africa's government called themselves democratic, despite the overwhelming majority of their population being black and having no vote.

Some Bernie canvassers just came by while I was sitting outside on the porch. I thought they were Jehovah's witnesses so I ran inside and told my boyfriend to deal with them

The end result of this interaction being that I might go canvass for Bernie with them sometime, so now I'll be the annoying person at your door. Mwahaaha

Somebody has to play the Jewish clown and Bernie was born to the role.

Only you aren't allow to vote for whoever you want. The political parties decide who you get to vote for, and it will always be a rich person.

Obama was not rich. At most, he had maybe five million bucks, which is considered merely upper middle class these days. But you are correct in assuming no poor working slob will ever become president again at the rate we are going. Almost a million dollars is considered a decent retirement fund today.

I believe you are wrong. If the democracy decides to come for your property, and you resist, you can bet on violent consequences.

If the democracy comes to put you in chains, take away your vote, take away your livelihood, etc. or merely laughs whenever you complain about your treaties being violated repeatedly, you can bet the word democracy doesn't apply to you.

Report: Intel Community Secretly Relaxed Whistleblower Requirements

The Ukraine call complaint against Trump is riddled not with evidence directly witnessed by the complainant, but with repeated references to what anonymous officials allegedly told the complainant: “I have received information from multiple U.S. Government officials,” “officials have informed me,” “officials with direct knowledge of the call informed me,” “the White House officials who told me this information,” “I was told by White House officials,” “the officials I spoke with,” “I was told that a State Department official,” “I learned from multiple U.S. officials,” “One White House official described this act,” “Based on multiple readouts of these meetings recounted to me,” “I also learned from multiple U.S. officials,” “The U.S. officials characterized this meeting,” “multiple U.S. officials told me,” “I learned from U.S. officials,” “I also learned from a U.S. official,” “several U.S. officials told me,” “I heard from multiple U.S. officials,” and “multiple U.S. officials told me.

Congress kicking the bum out of office is not a coup, since he is not a dictator. He wasn't elected to be king, he was elected to lead, and if congress has no confidence in his ability to lead, it doesn't matter why. We have a regular chain of command, and he is easily replaced. When and if the Pentagon decides they want to back a tin pot dictator, you will be informed.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

President Trump was repeatedly warned by his own staff that the Ukraine conspiracy theory that he and his lawyer were pursuing was “completely debunked” long before the president pressed Ukraine
this summer to investigate his Democratic rivals, a former top adviser said on Sunday.

It's my guess Trump still doesn't believe Obama was an American Citizen ...lol...

You do realize, don't you, that RT (Russia Today) is a propaganda outlet for the Russian Government? Starting already?

There's no point. My vote means nothing and the constitution is an expensive piece of toilet paper. The pentagon is supposed to remain neutral and obey the orders of their commander-in-chief, but congress has given the pentagon so much authority they have had to beg them to put more constraints on what they can do. If the pentagon assassinates Donald Duck they will earn the undying gratitude of congress and get back the air force's billion dollars, but their next commander in chief might not feel to comfortable with the chain of command. If they assassinate Donald Duck's enemies, it certainly will not give them back their votes or constitution, but I'm sure they will have all the funding they want.

They're all fascists anyway, but they usually have better taste in fascist leaders than Donald Duck, so I'd bet they'll sit this one out. Meanwhile, the American people can fight over who represents the lynch mob, while the mass media argues over which of them is the bigger liar. That's entertainment, if you like lowbrow slapstick.

never fear, the constitution will protect you, even if you have no faith in it.

The bankers who collapsed the entire world economy never served a day in jail for putting the American taxpayers twenty trillion dollars in debt, no cop in the country has needed a real warrant in over ten years, while the courts are even compelling people to testify against themselves. I have more faith in my usual brand of toilet paper.
