Yesterday while getting my oil changed, there was a TV playing Fox News. After hearing this fun fact on Fox News, I broke my cell phone telephone and asked the google machine to lookup "Trump diverting FEMA funds".

I posted the first link that came up, without consulting you on what you consider a reliable source. I'm sorry VG, it won't happen again.

Australian English always has a dense layer of sarcasm baked in. If you just mean what you say it can throw people off.

He's probably afraid of Chris Cuomo.

BFD. The psychiatrist's comment was peripheral to the main topic and was given as essentially a hypothetical. He didn't say Trump did kill, or probably killed, more people than those other tyrants--although the implication was clear. (he did say he may have killed, which is highly unlikely). His point essentially was that even if Trump had done that, psychiatrists shouldn't be offering public analyses of his actions. I agree it was worded in a way that implied Trump did or might have done the deeds in question. It reminded me of Trump's remark that Hillary and Obama were the creators of ISIS. (Say what?) I guess the host could have said: Wait a minute, stop the music! Do you seriously believe there's even a remote possibility that Trump killed tens of millions of people--or even one person? Where is your proof? Maybe that's what he should have done. Why didn't he? I don't know. Possibly because the point seemed peripheral to the main issue they were discussing, he was focusing on that, it would have invited a convoluted discussion of Trump's alleged body count, there was another guest psychiatrist, and time was limited. Anyhow, compare that to Fox's typical coverage, put it in the context of overall performance, and we have a good illustration of how you cherry pick isolated instances to prove your points.

Let's be clear. There's nothing in Trump's record so far that's remotely comparable in magnitude to the horrors perpetrated by the Nazi leaders. There are, however, disturbing patterns that raise legitimate concerns, such as his obvious admiration for and coziness with dictators, demonization of people and groups that happen to be of color, cult of personality, fanning the fires of nativism and nationalism, attacks on the press.--not to mention the behavior of his followers at the rallies, the tiki torchlight march in Charlottesville (Jews Will Not Replace Us),Richard Spencer's white nationalists giving the stiff armed Hail, Trump! salute after the election, the rise of paramilitary outfits like the Oath Keepers, gangs like the Proud Boys and Patriot Prayer, etc. Not things that we're used to in the States.

Probably because he knows he hasn't got a hope in Hell of winning that case. Or at least his advisers have told him that.

Nup, there is no explaining that away, psychiatrist guy goes on full blown rant. Host doesnt react as he should because he is used to similar by the water cooler rants from his colleagues

And whats the bet psychiatrist guy learned that style of arguing from internet forums - blurting out oversensationalized craziness within three paragraphs. Dude has been online ranting fo' sure

Hell, if he had snuck in the word neoliberal, I would have thought he was a mutual friend of ours ;)

Its not Trump its social media, this guy is a psychiatrist, not psychologist, which means medical degree, 10+ years at Uni, deacades in the field, but now his whole career gets summed up by this interview. Because he blurted out stuff without thinking

Its not just Trump, any wealthy public figure would be suing the media left, right and centre if there was a chance to influence them and/or recieve net financial gain

BFD. Lots of psychiatrists are assholes. The one on the other side didn't impress me much either. But the male shrink did make an interesting statement: the voters who elected Trump are the crazy ones. Analyze them!

According to Josephus in Antiquities, he died at the age of 54 after being proclaimed a god and being smitten shortly afterward with violent pains in his heart and abdomen which led to his death five days later. Deification can be dangerous.

  19. You can't learn anything from ancient historians. Sure, they had the foresight to start recording things, but it was all just bullshit, you know?
