Gun ownership itself is a slight mental illness

It sure as fuck is, and it's no wonder we have troubled teens and others who don't value the sanctity of our lives. There's no nobility in America.

 

If any of the shooting victims had been relatives of congressional members, you can be damn sure there would be a bill being written to abolish the 2nd amendment, right now.

 

Donald Trump isn't noble. He's like a grotesque mockery of nobility. Some malignant narcissist who sticks his nose in the air 'cause he thinks it'll make him appear noble.

 

Maybe so, but only because it's instinctual to them to put on a big show of caring. They're completely superficial monsters.

 

Yes indeed, this happened with Fast & Furious.

 

And apparently there is a lack of good parenting.

 

You can't be a good parent when you're an eternal teenager yourself. We live in a nation of eternal teenagers.

 

Add it up. You own a gun store since you like and believe in guns. For the store to make a profit you need sales. The motivation is there. Not sure how you can deny the possibility.

If I was a man as I am a woman, I'd still do all of that to get a gun. It would be exciting. A new town, a night out, talking to other would be enthusients from the state over about what guns you bought. You get your parents involved and excited, perhaps you even join the local shooting range together with your daddy and develop external hobbies and interests with new friends.

The point is that the process is long and hard. This is not what gun owners like. They want simple and easy guns anytime they wish. The waiting periods we have now are something they fought hard against. The meme is not something I think the NRA will agree too. That's why I made the comparison.

If they really will do all this sure have a gun. They will not especially when it's clear the argument comes from pro life laws.

Abortion is not a right to them it is murder. A gun is a right as is their right to murder someone who wrongs them with it.

 

They want that, yeah. Americans LOVE convenience. They just think they're so worthy. It's my biggest pet peeve.

 

I am a college liberal. And I own several guns. Some of them are semi-automatic. None described as "assault." I collect older 22 caliber rifles from the early to mid 20th century. Most of these guns are only available at gun shows.

I grew up in a hunting environment and appreciate that at one time many of my guns were used to put food on the table. I don't care for the taste of wild game so I don't hunt. I do target shooting instead. I receive great satisfaction of hitting a one-inch square target at 100 yards. I respect my rifles and consider myself the steward or an important part of our American heritage. I also own a few hand guns for self defense in case someone thinks they can take advantage of an older citizen.

I cry when I hear of the senseless murder of my fellow citizens just trying to live and enjoy their lives. While it is the person rather than the gun that kills people, the gun is the tool of deranged individuals who indiscriminate try to kill as many people as possible. I think of the children at Sandy Hook. And the young baby girl who will never know the love of her mother, who sacrificed her life to save her. This carnage has to stop.

As a responsible gun owner, I favor a national background check, including a mental evaluation, which leads to a national gun ownership license. If a person wants to own an assault-type weapon, he or she should be required to obtain a separate license, as is currently required to own a fully automatic weapon. High capacity magazines should be banned. And families who have a member they feel it not mentally capable of owning a firearm should report this to authorities for that person to receive a mental evaluation.

Many people want all guns banned and they have their right to that opinion. I hope that opinion is obtained from researching the issue rather than knee-jerk reaction to current wave of killing. If responsible gun owners do not act to support reasonable regulations, that opinion will become law.

Americans have been voting for whoever advertises the most for over twenty years. The solution is obvious, "Vote the Bums Out of Office!" That will fix all our social problems fast. Just vote them out of office and don't bother to replace them. I know, I know, but its a case of the lesser of many evils.

 

I agree with most of what you said but not the phrase "knee jerk". It sounds like the argument we can not discuss gun laws after a shooting since it's only emotional and actuly a disrespect to the victims. This concept is very important to the gun owner. Although they ignore science (the Republican ones at least) they are logical and it's the crying liberals who has no logic. We average over one mass shooting in America each day. So there is really no time when there will not be one. When is it not a knee jerk? Columbine was 20 years ago and so many have happened since. We have the data and evidence of what current gun laws do.

 

We've had the data forever, and we still have fewer gun laws than most third world countries. You might as well beat a dead horse, and complain it never listens to reason. The money and statistics are the only thing running the judicial system anymore. If too many people die, they have to do something but, otherwise, its pretty much you get the justice you can afford to buy. Billionaires and bankers never go to jail unless there are extenuating circumstances.

 

The same people who say you can not trust the police to help you will say you better respect them. Oh and the military? They will not watch the NFL if you say racism is real. It's an odd world these people live in. Such fear and hate so they need guns for a war with the goverment yet also a unquestioning love and allegiance to the goverment. If you don't like you can leave they say now. It's so confusing to me.

Until we address the whole war issue the gun community is going to have these nuts. It's not 1812 anymore and this fantasy needs to die.

They feel they need the guns so ideas outside their party die currently. Not to save the ideal of democracy but to kill those who don't like Trump and white rights. That is where most militias are moving to. The plan for the liberal war and "electing" the Trump family for the next 40 years.

 

Fuck that! I'm an American and its my right to call my government corrupt and call the American people stupid idiots voting for whoever advertises the most. To claim that neither fucking party represents anyone except the mindless mob. That's why its totally pointless to create new gun laws, because the entire judicial system has become driven by money, thanks to Americans making it illegal to even vote for Mickey Mouse, and insisting a KKK led government is the only reasonable course of action.

I'm proud to say as an American, that my late great uncle was a corrupt Irish Catholic cop in NYC. If Americans insist on corrupt government and cops, give them what they want. Trying to talk sense to KKK members still voting for whoever advertises the most is absurd.
