You're a criminal in the same way you're a criminal if you get caught smoking a joint (in a state where it isnt legal).
Crossing the border illegally is a misdemeanor, not a felony.

The only reason I can offer is that they can make money from silence about discrimination. I can think of many brown/black people like me who have multiple college degrees and have been excluded from employment for decades in this America. Some got short contract work when Obama was in office and it quickly faded away when Trump took over. Notice now Trump is moving government agencies out of DC where there are Black people. If they move the agencies to places like Missouri, White Republicans will get the jobs. The taxpayers will pay the bill for the movers.

 

When you cross from Canada into Minnesota, New York, and Vermont there are signs which tell the traveler to go to the nearest town and call the US customs/ border patrol. I crossed the border many times when there was no one at the local office. And I crossed the border in a semi truck.

Crime isnt crime though, in the sense that it isnt all the same. That's why there is a distinction between misdemeanors and felonies.

 

True, once you get a felony you will NEVER be forgiven in America. A felony is a life sentence. But enough misdemeanors will cost you opportunities. Especially if they show a pattern of behavior, on record. I still have one on my record from nearly 30 years ago when I was ticketed in Florida for fishing without a license.

Far from everyone. Those farmers on those big farms that hire them don't live in those areas in utter solitude. It seems you took my notion and imagined a lot of stuff onto it

umm no. If I go to Europe on vacation, and no one invited me, I am not a criminal.

 

Why call them bastards? Can't people be people without calling them names? Entering our country without following the proper procedures already makes them a law breaker. It does not mean, however, that they will then break other laws nor do something as harsh as murder, rape or pillage. We are not living in the dark ages! But... what I don't understand is this... if they are leaving Argentina because the conditions are so bad, why the US? There are so many other places to seek asylum prior to getting here. If they are truly seeking asylum, anyplace should be better than "their" place!

I'll tell you what I think... I think we offer something that those other countries don't. Our system supports them. The benefits of coming here is what lures them to our country.

Not to compare them with feral cats, but with of risk of being condemned here I will still risk using this analogy... I once had a mother cat that had kittens in my roof. It was winter time, cold outside and she had 5 kittens to take care of. I took pity on her and fed her and her kittens, soon, a raccoon moved in and was eating alongside the mother cat and her kittens. When warmer weather came and the mice started having babies, the mother cat had another litter of kittens. The raccoon moved on. I was still feeding the mother cat, her previous 5 kittens and now she had 5 more that I would soon be feeding. The mother cat had become so comfortable in the fact that I would feed her, she stopped catching mice. I began to notice that the mice were coming to the food dish to eat as well. How was I going to stop this??? Unfortunately, I had to stop feeding the cats, to stop feeding the mice and hope that the mother cat would again, become a mouser to limit the population of mice on my doorstep.

Take what you will from this, come to your own conclusions, but if we stop feeding the cats, we will not be overrun by mice! The raccoons however? They are the ones that only take the food when they absolutely need it, during harsh conditions, and as soon as those conditions improve, they move on and fend for themselves.

 

Vacation? You have a passport and landing at an airport or docking in a port? Or are you coming over mountains and across the desert to "sneak" into Europe without going through the proper channels?
