  1. Sometimes I'll post something and the page won't refresh, so I post again because I didn't think it worked, and then it will refresh and show it posted twice, that's all.

I was watching this WWII movie Destination Tokyo (1943) when I noticed a book in Captain Cassidy's sleeping quarters entitled 'Japanese racial theory'

I saw the movie as a kid but I never made the connection between the movie and straight outright WWII propaganda

Crewman: “You know, I’d sure like to hook an Aleutian salmon. Cute if I opened him up, and there was a Jap in there. Fried Jap in tartar sauce. Mmm.”

I was in a thrift store last week for cheap and fun furniture and left with a Terence Hill & Bud Spencer dvd box lol
Hadnt bought a dvd in years, but couldn't resist. 6 B movies for 5 euros. But i like the setting and actors. The slapstick fistfights are usually not my thing but hey, from these guys i can take it.
Saw the first one at a friends place last night:

I could only make it 1/3 of the way through Aquaman it just looked like a cartoon and was way too dumb.

Also wasnt impressed with Spiderman Far From Home, only made it half way through that for similar reasons, well it wasnt as dumb, but the CGI, they just clutter it with too much so it looks cartoonish. Ok maybe it was dumb, a whole bunch of CGI drones projecting a big water monster so Spidey could give up a pair of super dooper sunglasses. Yeah, sounds dumb on paper too

Also; just totally need a break from comic book movies for like a decade

The women kept losing their tops for some reason.
Also the T Rex gets his head blown off.

Sicario 2 - Loved the original film, one of my favorites of the last few years. This as I imagined it might be is poor in comparison and adds nothing. The look of it and set pieces were excellent, very consistent with the original. Acting was fine but the overall story arch is a real letdown compared to the original which managed to create a creeping dread verging on a horror film.
