HK continues to simmer but the flames haven't subsided completely with the students threatening more action and China breathing down their necks. There will soon be a meeting about abandoning the two state condition and then watch out for fireworks ; bloodshed and general mayhem - another Tienamen Square event if I'm not mistaken?/ and let's remember that poor old Taiwan is facing the same dilemma in a way - Beijing wants it back in the fold - at the moment there is no one state two country agreement - Taiwan is independent and this is strongly disapproved by Beijing Extradition law: one country, two systems and a vicious circle of mistrust forget about the middle east for a moment - just a moment HK is a tinderbox waiting to flare! which way will the west turn?
The tinderbox has been set alight and things are very tense and escalating with the police once more firing rubber bullets - the students will not back down and there could be serious injuries Hong Kong’s student protesters back with a vengeance as all-out chaos erupts on city’s streets
HK it would appear has gone too far - fueled by the young - mainland china will not tolerate this much longer - I dread the outcome? Angry young target Hong Kong leadership with new demands
Took me ages to find this thread. Sorry it took itself to bed. Time to raise it up once more. I have found my poems in a drawer. A very long story, I will have to scan. Maybe too long for many a man. So come on Fitzy get posting again. Something to do, when you have rain. X
I wrote this in 1996. There was an advert on TV back then, advertising BT our main telephone providor. THAT PHONE!! You made me very mad today, for talking on the phone I told you many times before, but you just say I moan Your excuse is always a simple one, it's them that phoned not me But every time a moments spare, the phone will ring for thee We're always waiting around for you, to finish on that phone You duly say, "I won't be long", we might as well stay home Your Mother talks for an hour or more, be it morning, noon or night And every time it happens, we have another fight Each member of your family, all want to chat to you Nine of them and one of me, whatever can I do I went and bought an answerphone, to save us both some time The only ones that use it, are family and friends of mine Bob Hoskins says "It's good to talk", I really do agree And once or twice a week maybe is really fine with me Whoever can I blame for causing me this hell The only name that comes to mind is Alexander Graham Bell Candy
very good candy gal - I like you simple stanzas - could you stanza over there please - now taka all da clothes off but you can leave your hat on - now where is that effing mechanic - riding his big yellow dumper trucks again and nothing to carry??
HK continues to escalate madly into a volcanoe - the students now seem hell bent in fighting for freedom but red china will not tolerate this and I fear really fear now the worst - HK belongs to china always did and it will take it back with fury!!
