The latest I've heard is that he isn't going to include the question on the census but is trying to get the info by another route, through the Commerce Department--subject to change without notice. Doing that should rob it of its vote suppression value. Maybe the system works after all!
Mark Dice was at Trump's social media summit. That's really scraping the bottom of the barrel. A video posted on Youtube shows Mark Dice making truther-conspiracy claims to former actor Danny Bonaduce (of the Partridge Family TV show) about the U.S. government supposedly planting nefarious devices in the WTC to demolish it. Bonaduce bitch-slapped Dice silly. Trump’s Social Media Summit nearly descends into brawl in Rose Garden By Nikki Schwab and Ben Feuerherd July 11, 2019 https://nypost.com/2019/07/11/trumps-social-media-summit-nearly-descends-into-brawl-in-rose-garden/ excerpt: "When Trump finished his remarks in the Rose Garden, Gorka walked past the White House press pool where he got into a brief shouting match with Playboy correspondent Brian Karem. Gorka called Karem a “punk” during the dust-up. Several of the attendees, including Joy Villa, repeatedly chanted “Gorka!” as he left. Another attendee of the social media summit, Mark Dice, a right-wing pundit, also shouted at CNN’s Jim Acosta as he walked by the press corps."
US census 2020: Trump retreats on citizenship question BBC News July 11, 2019 Trump retreats on census citizenship question excerpt: "In election year, a question about citizenship on the 2020 census form would have been hugely polarising. For Donald Trump, whose stance on illegal immigration has defined his presidency, it would have been a major success. But it is not to be. The hurdles proved too cumbersome and the administration acknowledged that outstanding lawsuits could delay the completion of the census. But never one to admit defeat, Mr Trump framed his plan B as a "far more accurate" way to count the non-citizen population. Officials, he said, would "leave no stone unturned", in their quest to dig out citizenship information from existing data held by government departments. That could be seen as an implied threat, but it means the census is likely to result in a more accurate count, with those living in the US illegally less afraid to make their presence known."
After a second federal judge refused to let Justice Department lawyers withdraw from the case to put a citizenship question on the 2020 census it was essentially over. This was a crushing defeat for Trump but as usual he lied his ass off and claimed victory. Btw his plan b was already in effect and has been used in the past by other administrations – nothing to see here.
Why Do Migrants Keep Coming To The U.S. Border, Despite Donald Trump's Hardline Policies? By Chantal Da Silva Newsweek 7/12/19 at 3:00 AM EDT Why do migrants keep coming to the U.S. border, despite Donald Trump's policies? excerpts: "Significant challenges with food security as a result of drought, McAleenan said, were "affecting the ability of families to provide for themselves." "We're seeing that directly translate into who's arriving at our border," he said. "About 30 percent of the arrivals last year were from Guatemala and the vast majority of those arrivals were from the Western Highlands. We're also seeing the rural areas of Honduras coming into play here on the border with Guatemala, where they also were in that Dry Corridor that has faced drought and having challenges with food insecurity. So, really, the hunger concern has become a real prevalent push factor from our analysis and perspective."" ""This administration has it backwards," he said. Instead of helping Central American countries to address the "push" factors driving citizens to make the difficult journey to the U.S. border, the trump administration has, arguably, exacerbated the situation by "pulling back funding to deal with these problems." In June, the Trump administration announced it would be cutting hundreds of millions of dollars in aid to Honduras, Guatemala and El Salvador, despite warnings from migration experts that doing so would only contribute to instability in the Northern Triangle."
Two very different assessments of Paul Ryan by Trump who is known to be a wind vane. Trump trashes 'lame duck failure' Paul Ryan in response to new criticisms By Joseph A. Wulfsohn | Fox News July 12, 2019 Trump trashes 'lame duck failure' Paul Ryan in response to new criticisms excerpts: Trump (April 2018): "Speaker Paul Ryan is a truly good man, and while he will not be seeking re-election, he will leave a legacy of achievement that nobody can question. We are with you Paul!". Trump (July 11, 2019): "Paul Ryan, the failed V.P. candidate & former Speaker of the House, whose record of achievement was atrocious (except during my first two years as President), ultimately became a long running lame duck failure, leaving his Party in the lurch both as a fundraiser & leader."

Trump's far-right Twitter summit: the most bizarre highlights Here are some of the ‘highlights’ from the gathering of far-right propagandists, conspiracy theorists and YouTube agitators by Luke O'Neil Fri 12 Jul 2019 12.17 EDT Last modified on Fri 12 Jul 2019 12.23 EDT Trump's far-right Twitter summit: the most bizarre highlights excerpt: "Alongside Trump loyalist politicians like Matt Gaetz, Dan Crenshaw and Josh Hawley was a who’s who of social media weirdos and villains. Among them were James O’Keefe, the video-manipulating propagandist, a “memesmith” known as Carpe Donktum, and Bill Mitchell, who advocates the mind-bending Q-Anon conspiracy theory that holds – among other things – that Trump is poised to arrest a swathe of high-profile Democrats for sex crimes. “Bringing these groups together is beyond irresponsible; it is essentially conducting a hate summit at the White House,” the Southern Poverty Law Center said in a statement before the event. Trump was nonetheless impressed with the talents of those assembled, for the most part. “Some of you are extraordinary,” he said. “Not all of you. But some of you are extraordinary. “The crap you think of is unbelievable,” he said, in one of the few unimpeachably true statements of the day."
Well, Acosta has just said he is leaving his Trump appointed job. That makes about 267 people who have vacated their position over some disgusting behavior in their past. Before Acosta finished speaking today, there was a report that Dan Coates might be the next one to leave. Mitch Mulvaney and Steve Miller appear to be contented with the exclusive responsibility of stroking the orange buffoon.
Now they are saying Acosta's replacement is an anti-union and anti-working man Republican piece of work … to run the labor department. Go figure.
A white woman who obviously supports Trump has attacked a Puerto Rican woman in Pennsylvania. The white woman yelled, "Go back to your country. Trump's gonna deport you illegals." And she added, "We're not you Fu**ing piggy back." It seems that Trump never told his followers that people from Puerto Rico are Americans.
During that big hurricane a while back he did say that he called to talk with the president of Puerto Rico?

Trump says it’s not fair to count thousands of Hurricane Maria deaths. Researchers say he’s wrong. By MATTHEW CHOI 09/13/2018 05:31 PM EDT Trump says it’s not fair to count thousands of Hurricane Maria deaths. Researchers say he’s wrong. excerpt: "In the case of Hurricane Maria, which ravaged Puerto Rico last September, the death toll seemed stuck at an official count of 64 until last month. That’s when a study commissioned by the Puerto Rican government and conducted by researchers at George Washington University concluded that nearly 3,000 people died from the storm. In a Thursday morning tweet, Trump discredited the higher death toll as a smear tactic orchestrated by Democrats, claiming there were only 6 to 18 deaths after his visit to the island following the storm. But independent researchers have uniformly agreed that the death toll is in the thousands, said Alexis Santos, assistant professor in human development and family studies at Penn State University. Santos also calculated the death toll from Hurricane Maria independently from the researchers at George Washington, and he found numbers roughly in line with the official count. Trump also accused unnamed Democrats of adding deaths "for any reason, like old age" to the death count. But the official study, which was conducted by non-partisan academics, controlled for deaths unrelated to the hurricane."
A White House Correspondent Departs the Jaw-Dropping Trump Beat by Mark Landler July 12, 2019 A White House Correspondent Departs the Jaw-Dropping Trump Beat excerpt: "Historically, presidents have used the Rose Garden to dignify important moments. John F. Kennedy welcomed the Mercury astronauts there; Richard M. Nixon had his daughter Patricia’s wedding there. Mr. Trump is the first to turn the garden into a well-manicured mosh pit. Rather than telling his guests to watch their manners, the president scored the slugfest like a referee. “@SebGorka Wins Big, No Contest!” he tweeted on Friday."
