If I remember what the reports told at the time, Manson got others to do it. There was a famous lawyer who wrote a very good book on it. His name will come to me in a minute … Vincent Bugliosi, I think! But, you are right to equate Trump and Manson, both masters at twisting the story.

'He pulled the wool over our eyes': workers blame Trump for moving jobs overseas

'He pulled the wool over our eyes': workers blame Trump for moving jobs overseas

    excerpt:

"“I believed it. I thought he was going to save some jobs. He pulled the wool right over our eyes and he’s still doing it till this day,” says 58-year-old Susan Cropper, who worked at a Carrier plant in Huntington, Indiana, for 31 years before the plant closed and she was laid off along with over 700 employees in March last year.

After being laid off, it took her eight months to find another job, but it pays much less than what she was making at Carrier. “Not only did I lose my job, now I’m not going to work long enough to build another retirement somewhere else,” she says.

Trump had promised throughout his presidential campaign to save the nearby Carrier plant in Indianapolis, which has laid off hundreds of workers since he made a deal with the company in December 2016. The deal was supposed to prevent those jobs from being sent abroad to Carrier’s plant in Mexico.

“I gave the best years of my life to that corporation that threw me out like I was a rag doll,” Cropper adds. “Carrier was rewarded with more government contracts, tax breaks, and the executives get to keep their lifestyle and line their pockets. It’s been a really unfair process.”

Carrier did not respond to multiple requests for comment."

Trump's teleprompter malfunctioned many times during his convoluted address.

He mispronounced Fort McHenry as 'Fort McHendry'.

He seemed to think that the rockets' red glare occurred during the Revolutonary War. It was about Fort McHenry being fired upon by a British ship during War of 1812

It's not clear what he meant by 'manned the air' and 'took over airports'.

He said the Continental Army was named after George Washington. The Continental Congress named George Washington commander-in-chief of the army.

Trump said that the American forces defeated Gen. Charles Cornwallis of Yorktown. Gen. Cornwallis was from London and he was defeated at Yorktown, Virginia, in 1781.

It sounded like he said 'rammed the ramparts.' Perhaps he meant 'manned the ramparts.' The Americans were protecting the walls (ramparts) of Fort McHenry from British naval attack. Trump made it sound like Americans attacked their own forts.

He should have said 'our' star-spangled banner instead of 'theirs'. He made it sound like the British won the wars.

Kim Darroch, Britian's ambassador to the U.S., has resigned after telling the truth about Trump in a leaked memo.
Meanwhile the king of lies carries on.
So let me get this straight, Darroch calls Trump "insecure" and "incompetent," in a secret document sent to his government designed to evaluate a foreign head of state....and he has to resign, although it could be argued that all available evidence would seem to back up his statements.
Trump publicly calls Darroch "wacky," "very stupid" and a "pompous fool," with no evidence at all, and he gets to stay in power.

Does that make sense at all?

    To put it simply

The hard-line Brexit supporter really need a quick trade deal with the US.

The crap is going to hit the fan after Brexit but the leavers hope/think a trade deal with the US can be used to call a ‘victory’.

Even if the deal is crap and ruins our farming industry and dismantles the NHS it will be hailed as a victory

So they are kissing Trumps arse.

A federal judge has ruled against Mueller on the issue of a Russian Troll Farm, and as they attempted to push the Trump campaign in 2016. The judge said he didn't think Mueller offered proof and he dismissed the legal action, according to Russia Today. As I recall from earlier reading, his sources were from the National Security agencies, maybe the NSA itself. I would think this will give Adam Schiff stronger grounds to acquire files from the NSA, during the congressional inquiry into Trump's election activities.

Trump rails against ‘Fake News’ in bizarre tirade, warns industry will fold when he leaves office

Trump rails against ‘Fake News’ in bizarre tirade, warns industry will fold when he leaves office

    excerpt:

"President Trump teed off on the news media in a bizarre Twitter rant Thursday morning ahead of a big social media summit at the White House slated for later in the day.

The string of tweets attacked the news media and claimed the industry would go out of business when he leaves office, even suggesting outlets would be forced to endorse him this cycle for the sake of their own survival.

He went on to alternately praise himself, lob insults at familiar targets in the 2020 Democratic field and even joke about serving more than two terms."

Similar to a dictator summit, Trump is holding a social media summit (anti-social?) comprised of a motley crew of fringe characters.

Trump invites right-wing extremists to White House 'social media summit'

Donald Trump invites right-wing extremists to White House 'social media summit' - CNN

    excerpt:

"New York (CNN Business)Some of the right-wing media universe's biggest stars are set to descend on the White House Thursday for what has been billed as a "social media summit" and will likely become a forum for airing claims of anti-conservative social media bias.

In addition to inviting leaders from traditional conservative think tanks, such as the Heritage Foundation and Claremont Institute, the White House has requested the presence of far-right internet personalities and trolls, some of whom have pushed conspiracy theories, lies and misinformation.

It's perhaps the clearest example yet of President Trump legitimizing fringe political allies.

The White House has repeatedly declined to release a list people it expects to attend, but some of the recipients have turned to social media to boast about being invited."

LOL, Barry is a bit of a loud mouth as retired generals go, but you just can't get a lower opinion of your own commander in chief. He might as well say he hopes the secret service shoots him in the back. That would be one for the history books, the first American Commander-in-Chief killed by his own troops.
