I worry that finding a car will be hard for me because I don't want electric windows.

Yeah I hate electric windows. I looked for manual windows the last time i bought a car but couldn't find anything newer than like 20 years old with manual lol

Are electric windows a hassle to repair if they have issues or something?

I don't get the appeal of having to reach across the car to grab some clunky looking crank and spin it a bunch of times to get the passenger side window up.

Yeah they're expensive to repair. I had to pay around $500 once to replace a window motor

What she said. I've never owned a car yet.
I like winding the handle. I like the mechanics of it. I like the simplicity.

Yah that's expensive but that aside,

A window that goes down even slightly is annoying and it seems to happen more frequently than you might think. Driving with an annoying wind swoosh sound all on the freeway when you want to listen to radio or having to wait until you get to a stoplight to roll the non-driver window up is a burden I had all but forgot about until this was brought up.

I just tried finding out whether electric or manual was safer in a crash but it's only giving me results on how to fix my electric windows

... The oil's fine I drive a Kia it was not down a single drop.... I'm good for another five to ten thousand...
I go to pick up the van and Buddy tells me one good pothole and your lower right ball joint is gone out of a joint out of its pocket and that his mechanic was afraid to even drive it around the parking lot .....what a pussy.... So add a lower ball joint to the list of repairs I'm only paying labor on it ... This is the second time they are replacing it free... My front left wheel bearing is also on its way out so that will be next

if a mechanical window slips off its holders it is just as much of a pain in the ass to fix as an electrical ... You still have to remove the entire inner door panel and you will be praying that you have not snapped the tiny little cable or crank... Most times on an electric window it's just a short and mechanics won't spend the time to search for a short instead they just replace the motor and wiring but it's not that difficult

I would totally go out of my way to buy you a car with wind-up windows if that's what you like I believe the point is for people to make each other happy in life even if it's not always convenient
