I don't mind it in casual conversation or even interacting with friends. It's just when I am trying to get something done and don't have a lot of time to waste and someone just won't get to the fookin' point.

Me, clearly in a rush: Bob, did you do the thing yet?
Bob: Well, I asked Alicia if she had gotten the stuff to do the thing, but I couldn't find her. So then I went to try and find Steve and he can't find Alicia and I don't know what she did with the stuff, but then i saw that Alicias stuff was here but I still couldn't--

BOB, come on dude, just say: "No, working on it"

 

I think the bigger message is that I just don't like inefficiency. Like if I can do 2 things at once or find a shorter/easier way to do things, I always do.

Like I even get a little annoyed when I see a tautology (saying something twice that means the same thing). Like "I woke up at 5 am in the morning" or "Naan bread", "Chai tea", "A very dry desert" "In my opinion, I think he is wrong."

 

I'm Bob at times. Sue me!

To be honest, I get impatient as well when people don't get to the point fast enough. Also regularly in casual convos (but usually after they turned into heated debates )

Here's another that both annoys me when it happens to me but I'm also guilty of myself at times:

'You don't let me finish making my point! '

'I knew where you were going with it'

 

Having been on both sides of authority in a work environment, I can say that, assuming relatively similar levels of education, English being a first language and the work promoting collaborative input, sometimes it's the boss's past failures in communicating why a particular job needs to be done on schedule, particularly if the subordinate has other work to do and/or prior failures to complete work on time lead to reprimanding and further questioning anyways.

This may not be applicable to your circumstances but I can think of work routines where a boss wanted it done a certain way and it certainly was not the most efficient way.

 

Maybe have a bite to eat to try and absorb the amount of booze you have.

 

I get this when someone is doing something in an inefficient order... like.. they don't do X because they're just finishing Y but X being done sooner means something else afterwards is more efficient, and they can leave Y and come back to it.. everything will run better if they just get X done but nooo they're already doing Y and won't stop.
