People who bitch about millennials

They have no clue what the modern world is and blame the younger people for everything. It's really annoying to me. They honestly believe an entire generation of people were all spoiled/ raised wrong in the same way. None of us possibly learned about how to be independent and not one of actuly wants to work hard. This is just silly. We are all ruined by parents who gave us everything according to people our parent's age.

Oh do you mean like Baby Boomers who were the first generation raised in the middle class suburbs? The first generation to grow up with strong unions and pretty much any toy advertised on the TV for Christmas. The boomers raised us and guess what your parents did all the same things. Mom loved you and told you don't do things you don't like doing since you are her special little angel. Dad made sure his salary bought you that new bike that you don't need but you sure did want it.

When you went to college the tuition and books were covered by a part time summer job. Chances are you did not even work during the school year just the summer so you can focus on education. If you don't go to college yet work hard there is still a good chance you can own a home and support your own family. My grandfather does not have a college degree. He just worked hard and he still had a new Cadillac in his driveway and his kids always had that new bike.

It's not that easy anymore. The boomers had all the advantages or "hand outs" if you want to call them that that millennial feel entitled to now. It's not as if we are asking for special treatment. We just want the salary and education that existed in the 1970's. Capitalism has been taken to an extreme and now those things are just too expensive since capitalism says someone will pay for this service so why should it be cheap? If it is it means the product has no value and I personally make no profit.

 

You spent the first paragraph doing your poor me rendition about being lumped into one group.

You spent the next three paragraphs putting down baby boomers and painting us all with the same brush. We are not all alike any more than your generation. I did not have everything given to me. As a single self supporting woman I earned very little to support myself and it took me 30 years to earn a college degree because it was not free. By the way I am not rolling in dough now either.

Grow up and be responsible for yourself.

every generation says the same shit about the next one. i don't know why, it just always happens. i bet the lazy spoiled kids today will all say it about the generation that follows them too.

 

Walking through the middle of Sydney very late the other night, was thinking, Sydney is a lot safer than it was 30 years ago.

This generation, teens, they arent hanging around the city, getting drunk, causing trouble.

They are at home, binging Netflix, Playstation, on their phones making tik tok videos, getting fat

 

I don't like when people complain about an entire generation. It's like, how can some absurd blanket statement be taken seriously. I have noticed some phone stuff that is slightly ridiculous though.

 

Each generation SHOULD be better than the last, or else the human race isn't improving.

 

Maybe I'm just an old schooler but the new generations are utter trash.

I sometimes think that.. But actually in lots of ways, they're not. I'm seeing an increasing number of kids in the shop who care about stuff like plastic pollution. They've grown up with the internet, and friends all over the world.. Maybe they will grow up with some good ideas. They're going to go through that phase where they annoy everyone by acting like they're the first teenagers to walk the earth and like they know everything.. But we all do that to the elders : )

I see more teens who are prepared to alter their lifestyles because of things like climate change than any other age group.

 

Yeah that's just because they're a bunch of softies and push overs. Utter trash! No fight in 'em. No honor, no pride, willing to be held accountable and responsible for someone else's doing. Haha.

I am a Baby Boomer, born in '48. I live near a retirement place in Florida, 'The Villages'. Most there are there because they had incredible benefits and outstanding pensions from the union jobs they had when they worked. It's amazing how many bumper stickers are placed on their expensive cars, just under the Trump/Pence stickers, that say, "I'm spending my kid's inheritance".

Now they want to do away with unions and complain that their children are lazy and selfish. Hmm, define selfish you old Trumpetts!
