Neither of us know that at all. And you're pretty ignorant to the current situation in Central America and the US govt's role in it if you're just chalking it up to a "failed society."

But none of that really matters because the bottom line is, if someone declares asylum they are entering the US legally.

You and I both know your ancestors were immigrants so lets not even bother with the whole "they want to destroy the country my ancestors built!" routine. No one takes that shit seriously. This country was built by immigrants and the US has always been welcoming of immigrants, which is something i'm proud of. People like you are the ones who want to see this country changed into something else, something hard and unwelcoming and homogenous. Thats not what we are.

Yes it is. So many scared rabbits in MAGA hats willing to substitute emotionalism and slogans for thought. BTW my ancestors were here before Columbus. Yours had to come in and mess things up.

Technically, he's giving the mayors of sanctuary cities EXACTLY what they want. That's why they are sanctuary cities.

democrats want sanctuary cities so why not send all illegals there?. you'd think they would want them, cause they'll all vote democrat. once you pack it ( the sanctuary) then build a wall around the whole thing

Of course it isn't. The mayors of sanctuary cities never wanted their resources to be overwhelmed by an unmanageable influx of new people, especially at great expense to American taxpayers. Why would you say that?

No, Democrats want to negotiate a comprehensive immigration policy. Republicans resist that because it would take away their favorite policy issue.

Resource limitations to a mass influx of foreigners is EXACTLY why open borders and public services (& other socialistic policies) cannot coexist.

Why would they want to be sanctuary cities?

America would do well to review Australia’s “stolen generation.” Then of course we have Manus and Christmas Island (ironic name). For shame, Australia.

Even you should be able to see the difference between protecting people who are already here and "open borders". What's wrong with Trump's plan? Morally, it uses humans as political pawns. Legally, it's a misuse of government funds. Homeland security dollars are supposed to be used to protect national security, not go after your political opponents. It is a blatant violation of the Hatch Act, which prohibits using government funds for partisan political purposes like embarrassing political opponents. The Donald's tweets should provide ample evidence of his motive. Politically, it's a dangerous lurch toward authoritarian rule--weaponizing the resources of the government to go after opponents. Nixon tried it with the CIA and the IRS. Loook where it got him.

  14. Yea, sure they do. Unfortunately we have thousands of people illegally sneaking in and only a small percentage seem to have legitimate asylum claims. And only a small percentage are honest fruit pickers, usually from groups that have been coming to the US for decades to do this work.

The influx at the border now is primarily freeloaders who arrive with nothing. Offer nothing. And expect to be housed and fed, for nothing.

The only logical move is to shut the border down so that the actual negotiation on immigration policy can be held. Because it's very clear the present immigration "policy", the one that ignores many of our established laws and distorts other statutes (like the 14th amendment), isn't working.

The current rush for the border is easy to understand since even the peasants in central America can plainly see it's not sustainable. So they need to get to the US fast. Before the "golden goose" closes her legs.

  16. I guess. Maybe it's because I don't fall for party politics, probably because I see so little that's actually different between them. But I do admit I like the show sometimes.

Oh, and I didn't drink last night!

Leftists be like: I want open borders and being in as many migrants to my country as we can! But don’t put them in places I frequently go to.

Several US mayors said on Friday that their cities would welcome the undocumented immigrants.
'Not pawns': US mayors decry Trump's sanctuary city threat
U.S. mayors decry Trump sanctuary city threat, 'prepared to welcome' migrants

So maybe the problem is solved. Except your plan to wall off California won't happen, because it's unconstitutional. And it's not just California. So maybe they'll stay put, maybe not. Where do you live, again?
