I don't really feel that is all republicans though. I feel some are decent. I tire of the angle against Schiff of late. Fox seems to feel they have something to gain by attacking him. I don't appreciate that. I haven't really been following along, but the gist seems to be "leave Trump alone" now that the Mueller summary has all but exonerated him.

I don't care. I have done time before... 2020 isn't so far off. A little damage control and proper campaigning will hopefully get us a decent president elected instead of this loser though.

This means those 3 countries were NOT spending their foreign aid from the USA very well. Why would their people be fleeing these countries in caravans if they were benefiting from foreign aid? The truth is, those governments are corrupt to the core, and pocketing that foreign aid for their own selfish interests. These countries are facilitating the caravans in many ways.

You must think America had nothing to do with the collapse of their democratically elected governments or the installation of corrupt dictatorships? Have you ever heard of John Negroponte?

 

First you clearly don't have a grasp on the history of the CIA destabilizing central American countries. It's not as if they are like this 100% on their own.


What creates corruption? Cash.

If we look at the famous Venezuela it's the private sector for example. Someone saw the chance to make money and they use the goverment to serve their own interests. A very libertarian approach. Somehow it's the poster child for socialism when it's capitalist.

 

A problem we still see in the hippie movement to this day is greed. When you think abouit the whole idea of just smoking some weed and doing your own thing can be very self serving. Often people attracted to only want what is good for them not the idea of serving others.

Capitalism also says only do what is good for you and that is OK. Somewhere in the 1980's the boomers decided that they could have their cake and eat it too. They combined the two philosophies,. The Wall St. executives pushed the idea hard that greed is good and no one wants to live like they did at 20 in the mud at Woodstock.

As a younger person I still see this as the #1 criticism of the hippie culture. It's in some way naive but it's OK since when you grow up you will just like to smoke the weed AND own a company at the same time.

The boomers were the first generation to have everything. Most anything they wanted certainly 100% of what they need. They are selfish in ways they don't understand since they lack the understanding of how and why this happened to them. I know some nice older people but I've seen a lot go right.

They will say it's the true counter culture anyway. I don't know for me the life is about more than what makes me money or what makes me feel good.

 

The money sent as aid mostly goes to non profit charity organizations, not the government.
