What's Happening???

Little Pete constantly wants to be held and petted. He gets excited when I talk and get close to him. Him and I are inseparable.

Chicken and Rice for dinner. Yum.

 

I'm making chicken and dumplings. This is one of those dishes I remember my grandmother making and I remember how it tasted but i've never been able to get it right. But I think this is gonna be the one. And now I go feast

 

I saw a recipe for Chicken and Dumplings in the Instant Pot.

I'll try that some day.

 

I almost bought an instant pot today at Target on your recommendation but I was already spending way more than I intended because Target. But I think I will get one eventually

My chicken and dumplings came out good. My grandma would be proud

 

Do you follow a recipe? I would like to see it.

 

Not a family recipe, I wish I had my grandma's recipe. I just found one for the dumplings online

Then just boiled chicken, shredded it and seasoned it and added it all to the broth. And I made a roux to thicken it up

The dumpling recipe came out perfectly though and can be useful for many different things. I think I may try to do a chinese style dumpling with it next, maybe wonton soup

 

I forgot to mention, I did not use the margarine the recipe calls for. Only buttah for me

 

my ex from the south .. she made some great dumplings.

IMHO just another feel-good Black and White buddy picture of which I can think of several off the top of my head that were better like Lethal Weapon, Django Unchained,
Training Day, 48 Hours, & MIB,

 

Sitting here playing some guitar and my daughter is in the next room so I'm being quiet. But that reminded me of something my son told me a while back....kind of just out of the blue.....he said "I can't even tell you how many nights I would lay in bed going to sleep while listening to you play guitar in the other room. It's like the soundtrack of my childhood and one of my favorite memories."

I guess I'm thinking of that because I was playing earlier and didn't realize my wife was on the same floor as me for a while. I said later that it was too bad that probably nobody will ever hear me play that kind of stuff besides her (and my daughter I guess). She said "Well....lucky me, then!" She's a saint who has listened to way more than her fair share of crappy guitar playing in her lifetime.

 

Never really got into the award shows. I have no idea what's going on there or who is good, etc.
