What's Happening???

Glad tomorrow is Friday. Short work weeks right after a holiday break...so great.

 

The kids go back to school on Tuesday. At least their first week back will only be a 4 day week.

What's everyone doing this weekend?

 

Going to Memphis, TN.

 

Ah so that's where Memphis is.
One of my favorite songs is called Miles to Memphis, I find it really sad and heart hitting it is about a guy travelling to Memphis to give something to his ex wife, but he realises he's better off just passing through.

 

It was really good. Plot and music was spot on.

 

Boxed with a 59 year old gentleman tonight named Mike.

All I have to say is..... never underestimate your elders.

It inspired me to get my ass in gear on my project.

 

I was actually thinking the exact same thing while watching it, how it seems like such a short and simple animated film but took collaborative effort and time. And then I started thinking about Yuri Norstein and how he spends yeeeaaars on such short animations (you should check him out if you liked what piafeloise posted, by the way. All his work is on youtube)

And now i'm wondering just what am I doing with my life, and feeling somewhat motivated

 

Yuri Norstein is a genius.

He needs to finish The Overcoat.
I hope he doesn't die.

 

I sincerely hope the same. Seeing Yuri's take on The Overcoat would be a dream come true
