What's Happening???

Copy of a painting by Dali. Many faults but it's a good effort I think.

 

I just got a lot of paintings back from a friend who was storing them for me. Good to see them again.

 

I often find I like my own artwork more when I haven't seen it for a while.

I had a few chalk pastels once, not a whole set, like, five colours or something.. And they were old and broken. I did a few drawings with them that I was really proud of, so I went and bought a new set of 20 pastels.. And could never do anything I liked.

Lack of choice is sometimes the best creativity fueler.

Necessity is the mother of invention?

 

Sometimes selecting an instrument from a computer program can be that way. There are so many different virtual instruments in so many of the programs offered on the computers at my school. When you want to make a song you must first rummage through 14 different instruments to figure out which one sounds best... turning knobs and sliding faders to see what changes what... It's my least favorite aspect of trying to produce something.

 

...Yeah you might say that, I suppose.

But these proverbs.. They're not specific enough. There was no necessity here. And so often people repeat them when they don't quite make sense.. Turns us into parrots, not quite thinking about what we're saying.
