Walking down the streets of downtown, there’s always a crazy transient talking or shouting to his/herself.

I try to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they’re taking on the phone through earbuds or a Bluetooth.

We all knew they were crazy before that technology existed though.

downtown of the town where i live, there's nothing there that interests me.
there isn't even really a downtown as such.
where any sane town would have a retail commercial district,
reno has an entertainment/casino district. blech.
there is one mall, but very little of what interests me is there either.
the big grocery stores are scattered about, each in their own 'strip' malls (clusters would be a better description)
that goes for banks and hardware stores too.
there aren't any really model building hobby shops or interesting technology computer stores.
not very many book stores either,
but as for retarded haters with a bottle of booze stuck up their ass,
they do wander past the dumpster on the other side of my wall,
or even pass on the street at the other end of the block,
hating themselves so loud, it sounds like they're in the alley instead,
and frequently trying to get on the bus without paying, or fumbling for an hour before they do, or still arguing about it with the driver tells them ok, just sit down and shut up.

i guess that's why i don't much like booze, or have much interest in other mind altering substances,
though i do support the idea that everything should be legal, so that it couldn't be used to entrap anyone,
nor posses the catchet' of 'forbidden fruit'.

but we do have some parks, a universeity, a couple of community college campuses, even a river walk bike path,
so its not all entirely bleak as all that. still, i wish i didn't feel like i'm going to be stuck here for the rest of my life.

Got a Letter in the Mail from Customs that some Ketamine got confiscated back in September.. :(

I don't know where these people get their stuff though, because they confiscated a gram and listed the value at $7.00..

I wish I knew someone selling a gram of Ketamine for that price.

When this happened a few years ago, the doctor listened closely to me, took a chance that it was originating in my stomach and put me on some antibiotics for the stomach. It cleared up. I really don't get the sense that it's originating from my stomach this time but it may be.

I've been watching netflix and taking it easy but when I got up to heat some dinner my hands shook like something crazy.

It affects my speech also. My voice quivers when I speak.

Back in the early 80's there was a man that would walk through the parking lot at work shooing away a non-existent dog.

Hubby worked close by and he said there was a man that would "swim" through their parking lot.

@thethinkingcat Since you used C++, do you have any tips and tricks on how to make sure that you avoid a segmentation fault when passing variable length string pointers as a parameter?

I have this problem where, in a loop, when I pass a string as a pointer as an argument, the parameter causes a segmentation fault or says null, when I attempt to use it in the function that's being called. I figure that somehow the null terminator is not getting passed along in the argument, but I don't know of any ways to append that onto the String Pointer in the argument. Perhaps there are other reasons for the Seg Fault I haven't considered too. Any advice is welcomed.

Wasn't shouting but there was this old guy downtown when I was a kid that was always stomping his feet during the winter... We thought it was funny and called him the Salina Street Stomper.

It wasn't funny anymore when he was found dead, frozen to the street in an alley a couple of blocks from where he hung out...

Hmm.. the pointer and array thing could potentially be the issue too, I was thinking that. But then the issue becomes figuring out how to allocate memory to the pointer to match the array byte size.

Traffic was crazy today! But we had fun seeing some friends, and I bought a new book, ''Divine Direction.'' I saw the author in an interview, and his book looks interesting. Tried out a new sushi bar, and it was amazing. We went to an outdoor mall after the book store, and really proud of myself that I did not buy a thing.

Today was a mix of good and bad:

BAD - I lost my second umbrella in only 8 days. Even though it was raining with some wind in Connecticut today, last Friday was a lot worse. I've lost at least 6 umbrellas since the beginning of 2017 (storm damage and lost one entirely in Boston once).

GOOD - I double checked some papers in a big blue tote bag I awlays carry around. I found a $20 bill in it. SWEET! Only problem...I never leave money in that. I now wonder how it got there? It sure helped with dinner tonight, along with a minor but much-needed household item.

@Deidre: I hope you had an awesome Friday! <3 :)

Aw, sorry to hear this. I rarely carry an umbrella. I just end up getting soaked, not sure why I don't bother with one lol

    That's awesome.

I did. I've been enjoying my time off from work. :)

Growing up as a kid in the Boston area back in the 80s everyone hated the Lakers.

We lived and breathed the Celtics such as Larry Bird, Dennis Johnson, Kevin McHale, Robert Parrish, Danny Ainge, and Bill Walton.

Wednesday I Injured my left shoulder/bicep trying a lift trick with my dance partner. [IMG]

22 hours later, after the injury I was able to see a orthopedic shoulder surgeon. (Lucky Fast) He said take 2 Aleve a day and call him in the morning joke.
    [IMG]Shoulder/bicep feels way better.

Now my partner has the flu. [IMG]

We'll both reconvene dancing with each other on Jan 3rd. I'll still be practicing in my barren living room.

My home is getting lighter by the day. Donating more clothes and goods, tossing more into the construction dumpster. My home should be at its ideal weight by the New Year's deadline...

I watched the very first 3 episodes of Game of Thrones today. Impressive story. Felt bad for the girl "Dany" and the Direwolf pup "Lady".
