Is the media promoting parents living off their sons drag queen career?? Or that its fine that 11 year old boys make money about their (in general abnormal perceived) preference?? If so, i think pretty much everybody agrees with you..

If not, what sick, twisted and deranged things that disturb you are they promoting exactly according to you?

  2. I think you may be right. I admit I have never seen a guy emulate a Bull Dyke (archaic, I know). And I know a few who could pull it off.

Or you are doing life wrong : P

The more I've seen of this thread.. I have to say my opinion has changed somewhat. The videos of him on stage, etc... this stuff is just wrong, because I'd think that if it were an eleven year old girl.. drag has nothing to do with it. Kids don't need to be earning money and they certainly don't need to learn to make money doing fuck all except prance about.

  4. How about the sexualization of children? Why are so many people for this. I don't understand.

    Well.. I'm not.
To be honest it didn't seem so sexual to me until I saw those videos.
Since there is no talent to what he is doing, the only thing the money can be for is being sexually gratifying to look at.

  6. I just think women dress like that to be sexy. And I think when men do it they do it for that reason, too. I don't see how people can just insist there's nothing sexual about it. Then they put him on TV which basically gives the message that your value lies in how sexy you are. They have this whole world built around cover girl models and sexy poses and what not, and they think it's great and positive and spectacular, and they're just like, "Well, hell, why shouldn't kids be involved, too?"

And people are like, "So you find children sexy?!" Like there's nothing a child can possibly do to be sexy. Which, of course, there's not, in my eyes, but it isn't solely for my eyes. Like if a kid stripped naked and started playing with their genitals people would be like, "What? You think that's sexy?! Maybe YOU'RE the one with a problem."

Can you imagine the poor kid whose mom calls him into the room to watch this kid on Good Morning America? "Would you like to wear lipstick and mini skirts, too, Jimmy?" The poor kid. The horror. And he has to be like, "No, because I don't want people looking at me like I'm a little nymph."

How many girls that age get leered at all the time by older men though? i.e get sexualized without doing anything.

Seems to be something they are all in constant denial about...but...

well yeah, i think most people do life wrong, myself included.

but i can't imagine many scenarios where life can compete with college. college is just everything great all rolled up into one neat little package.

Yeah, little girls that age get ogled by older men. What in hell does that have to do with a ten year old boy being allowed on stage at a gay bar for the explicit purpose of being ogled by older gay men?

I can see that this is still something that you are choosing to remain in denial about.

Thats your 2nd post in as many weeks on that. You appeared to have a good time in college.

I did compsci first time in Uni, I just remember, 4 subjects a term, anytime you hit a subject on a programming language, that one subject would eat up 30 hrs a week, to get the same grade as another subject that only needed 4 hrs a week. That was in the 90s, so most of those 30 hr a week ones became useless 10 years later anyway.

I just remember no sleep for 3 years and ramen noodles for breakfast lunch and dinner

    You do have a point.

Brooke Shields posed naked for Playboy at age 10. Girls have always been sexualized from a young age, you guys are just so shocked because its a boy this time around.

And i'm not condoning it either way, I was disturbed watching the video of this boy dancing for money. I didnt really see his act as inherently sexual until that video was posted, it did change my opinion. Men should not be throwing money at a young boy like that

But this is an old problem, it isnt new and it doesnt make some definitive statement about modern society, that society is in an abyss or whatever was said in the OP. If thats the case then society has always been in an abyss because unfortunately the sexualization of children is a tale as old as time

You attempted to make a comparison between little girls getting ogled for doing nothing, and little boys getting ogled because they're up on stage at a gay bar for the explicit purpose of getting ogled. Concerning that, you are in denial, and now you're in denial about being in denial.

so you're an example of someone who did college wrong.

i didn't get enough sleep and lived on ramen too, but that was ok because all my money and time were going toward things funner than sleep or food anyway.

i took 5 or 6 subjects every semester, and i don't think school ever averaged much more than 20 hours per week for all subjects.

LOLz, you dont get how that might be mighty confusing to the ladies?

  18. Society has always been an abyss, granted, but I do hearken back to a time when little boys dressed as hookers weren't celebrated as heroes in the national media.

Yes I see that, I don't deny that that happens...
It seems more reason not to normalize it.

...This doesn't shock me more because it's a boy. I always feel uncomfortable when young girls are sexualized too, especially when it's done in that "harmless" way, that some people do seem to laugh off as if it isn't serious.

Ah. Well. I wouldn't know.. school was hell to me. I left age 16 and life has only got better since. My life is either really amazing or your college days were amazing or a mixture of both. But college is so short and the rest of life is so long. It makes me a bit sad to think that most people do life wrong : /
