What's Happening???

It's taking 4 ever , to boil these potatoes, to make mashed. Two pots 10 lbs.

Going on an hour, and still hard.




Ugh.... I could only wish..

 

I'm making pork rashes with a chilli hoisin sauce over steamed rice and Chinese brocolli. I'm just marinating the pork now. I'm also watching Jerry Maquire.

 

That's sounds scrumptious Irms. Galaxies better than my plain Ol'e Wisconsin potatoes.

I may decide to take up some cooking classes. I think cooking something other than a killer breakfast would benefit me with a new special lady friend.

 

Or maybe I should have cut the potatoes instead of boiling them whole. Shucks

I was thinking about it a couple of months ago.
There are those short classes that only last a few days. They are cheap too.
I kind of don't want to go alone, so I should maybe see if any of my friends would be interested

 

I chose beans as I didn't have brocolli.
I'll write you one by Xmas.

 

Anyways, I'm spending holidays with my parents.
I didn't really get into Christmas this year, at all. It all feels so overwhelming.
I am not even looking forward to all the food lol.
But I'm going to do what I'm expected to do, so yeah. I can tell everybody is nervous and aiming for perfection, and it's really too much. There is no peace, no silence, no reflecting...just people decorating and preparing food.
I know, I'm a Grinch who would like to skip Christmas this year. But I'ma show up and smile a lil anyways.
I was thinking...if I feel like it, I might do Orthodox Christmas in January. Just have two or three people over for dinner, maybe have a movie night. Just....do what *I* want to do. Very simple, no fuss.

I've been thinking about something else too.
It's been a long year, I feel.
Half of it I spent living in hotels, the other half I was sick and sort of a mess.
I think....and this is a bit embarrassing....I think I might find somebody to talk to a lil. I know I don't have any big issues, I really don't...but I've just been an anxious mess, and I can't snap out of it. I think it might help me bounce back and get my act together. I feel like everything is okay, but I need a lil push.
Hey, it's my money, I can do what I want.

I'm doing Christmas food shopping today. Thinking of having pheasant instead of chicken or turkey.

We don't really do presents, so that's good.
I am good at finding gifts for people though.
I really try to get them something special that I know they will like. If I am spending money, people might as well enjoy it.
Doesn't even have to be a holiday or a birthday, if I come across something that I know a loved one would love, or if it reminds me of them, I'll get it if I have money.

Yeah, I don't plan on doing much. Help here and there, watch all LOTR movies, catch up on Turkish, finish Remarque, read Arkham Asylum, visit grandmothers, play with cats.

For me pheasant is a much darker, richer tasting meat.

 

I joined a Ukrainian dating site. I now have about a thousand gorgeous Ukrainian women who want to marry me. They probably all think I'm rich. Lol.

 

They probably just want a ticket out of Ukraine. That I could supply to one lucky lady.
