this made me laugh. I too thought Bilbo's door was green, but I could totally have imagined that all by myself without ever having read it anywhere. I have read the Hobbit of course. I just don't remember if it says what color the door was. As for the tassle, nowhere in my imagination did dwarves' hoods have tassles. Tassles are so fancy... I always imagined dwarves and hobbits and their ilk to be a frugal bunch without much use for things like ornamental tassles.
