Yes it is Meliai. One would think it deserves better news coverage? Civil rights organizations should look into it, maybe?
Top House Intel committee Democrat says Trump and his business were 'compromised' By Kris Schneider Dec 2, 2018, 12:29 PM ET Top House Intel committee Dem says Trump and his business were 'compromised' excerpt: "Earlier last week, it was revealed that Paul Manafort, the former Trump campaign chairman convicted in September on eight counts of federal tax and fraud crimes, had broken his cooperation agreement with the special counsel. ABC News reported, and Trump's attorney Rudy Giuliani confirmed, that Manafort's legal team was in communication with the president’s lawyers regarding the Mueller probe. Schiff said that it appears Manafort was "double dealing" by sharing information with Trump’s legal team. "Basically, he was going through the pretense of cooperating, but he was really -- in an underhanded way -- supplying information to [the] Trump legal defense team," Schiff said. The filing by Mueller in the Manafort case has sparked new interest in a potential presidential pardon for Manafort, 69, who is currently in prison in Virginia awaiting sentencing. Trump, when asked about it by the New York Post last week, said, "It was never discussed, but I wouldn't take it off the table." Schiff said, "And of course the president continues to dangle a pardon for Paul Manafort, which only adds to the growing body of evidence that the president is engaged in obstructing justice." "That, I think, is the ultimate significance here.""
Think President Trump seems rattled now? There may be more to come Analysis: A series of court filings in the next few weeks may shed light on what Mueller has learned from people who were once in Trump's inner circle. By Ken Dilanian and Tom Winter Dec. 3, 2018 / 2:51 PM EST Think President Trump seems rattled now? There may be more to come excerpt: "Petrillo wrote, "We respectfully request that the Court consider that as personal counsel to Client-1, Michael felt obligated to assist Client-1, on Client-1's instruction, to attempt to prevent Woman-1 and Woman-2 from disseminating narratives that would adversely affect the Campaign and cause personal embarrassment to Client-1 and his family." The filing included 37 letters from friends and family of Cohen to Judge William Pauley, imploring the court for a reduced sentence or a sentence with no jail time. One of the letters was from Cohen’s father, Maurice Cohen, an 83-year-old surgeon and Holocaust survivor. He wrote, "So please where Michael is, let me be with him, and where he goes let me go. He is the oxygen in the air that I breathe." Trump, in a highly unusual intervention by a president into a pending criminal case, tweeted Monday that Cohen "lied for this outcome and should, in my opinion, serve a full and complete sentence.""
It’s interesting how the presidents detractors are constantly on the edge of their seats imagining that now, finally the dam is about to break, the shits gonna hit the fan, and all hell is about to come down on his head. It might, but there’s nothing certain about it. He’s been up to his neck in the maelstrom of NYC real estate and construction, which means dealing with labor unions, organized crime and crooked politicians for over forty years, has had his tax returns audited by the IRS every year, and all this time had not had a single charge made against him. He knows this game better than anyone on earth. He’s a trash talking blabbermouth but man, he knows the system and comes out on top every time.
Ha! Tyronsood provided the link. Here's just a few convictions...I don't have time to list all the charges and pending court battles: 1973 - 39 violations of the Fair Housing Act. The corporation was required to send a bi-weekly list of vacancies to the New York Urban League, a civil rights group, and give them priority for certain locations.[15] 1985 - Forced eviction of tenants in order to demolish buildings. After ten years in court, the two sides negotiated a deal allowing the building to stand as condominiums.[18] 1988 - Violating stock procedures. Trump agreed to pay $750,000 to settle the civil penalties of the antitrust lawsuit.[19] 1990 - Defamation of a business analyst. After, the NYSE ordered the firm to compensate the analyst $750,000; the analyst did not release the details of his settlement with Trump.[23] 1991 - Discrimination. Trump Plaza was fined $200,000 by the New Jersey Casino Control Commission for moving African American and female employees from craps tables in order to accommodate high roller Robert LiButti, a mob figure and alleged John Gotti associate, who was said to fly into fits of racist rage when he was on losing streaks.[29] 1991 - Circumventing state regulations. Trump Castle was forced to pay a $30,000 fine under the settlement, according to New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement Director Jack Sweeney. Trump was not disciplined for the illegal advance on his inheritance, which was not confiscated.[30] 2000 - Circumventing state law. Donald Trump paid $250,000 to settle fines related to charges brought by New York State Lobbying Commission director David Grandeau. Trump was charged with circumventing state law to spend $150,000 lobbying against government approval of plans to construct an Indian-run casino in the Catskills, which would have diminished casino traffic to Trump's casinos in Atlantic City.[53][54] 2005 - Fraud. In 2004 Trump's German corporate partner brought suit against the Trump Organization for failure to pay back a EUR 200 million pre-payment as promised. In 2005, the German state attorney prosecuted Trump Deutschland and its partners for accounting fraud.[63][64][65] 2006- Ordinance violations. The two parties settled as part of a court-ordered mediation, in which Trump was required to donate $100,000 to veterans' charities. At the same time, the town ordinance was modified allowing Trump to enroll out-of-town members in his Mar-a-Lago social club.[75] 2009 - Fraud. In 2013, Trump settled the lawsuit with more than one hundred prospective condo owners for an undisclosed amount.[86] 2013 - Fraud. Trump University was later ordered by a U.S. District Judge in April 2015 to pay Makaeff and her lawyers $798,774.24 in legal fees and costs.[85][117] 2016 - Oppression, collusion and breach of fiduciary duties. ...the Ontario Court of Appeal,[15][17] which held that:[18]....Trump, together with two of Talon's principals, could still be sued for other claims that had been improperly dismissed, including oppression, collusion and breach of fiduciary duties. Taxes? We really don't know as he won't release his tax records but......
in Wisconsin…Republican lawmakers are attempting a power grab that would strip key functions from the state’s incoming Democratic governor and attorney general. Opponents are denouncing the move, which sparked protests on Monday, as a blatantly undemocratic negation of the November election results. 'This is not democracy': Republicans try to shrink power of incoming Democrats As I said before the question is do the right care about the society they live in or just about their side winning? It seems to me that many on the right don’t care about the methods used, the ends justifies the means, I think many would happily accept an authoritarian regime if it was of their political persuasion and so don’t worry about the trampling of norms, precedent and due process that inches the state toward that end. Imagine the uproar from the right if the Democrats did even 1% of the things that are going on now daily while others on the right seem happy to threaten an armed response to left wing policies and especially any infringement of the 2nd amendment ‘rights’ and the fellow travellers like the NRA pump out fear propaganda about the violent left. I think it’s clear that certain people on the right would have no problem would have no problem in censoring their opponents voices and would think it a fine idea to use the mechanisms of state to harasses, supresses and intimidate their political ‘enemies’, while all the time claiming they were only doing it to protect the nation and to make America great again. It reminds me of the Vietnam War quote - “we had to destroy the village in order to save it.” The right spearheaded the fake witch-hunts claiming lefties, socialists and communists were trying to destroy American democracy yet now they seem to cheer on as their own side actually tries to do it.
In Michigan it is the same attempt as in Wisconsin. In North Carolina it is outright crime by the Republicans.
A few weeks ago high school students were pictured during the Nazi salute. This week the students in New Hampshire recorded a video where the sing KKK, Kill all the blacks today...to the tune of Jingle Bells. In Michigan, the neo Nazis are allowed to ride shotgun along with sheriff deputies so they can beat the snot out of minorities. Trump has empowered the bigots and there is no other explanation.
Actually he's under investigation by New York State, where the tax improprieties originate. Federal charges can't be persuaded due to the statue of limitations, the state of New York may be able to get civil penalties. Doesn't mean he didn't commit tax crimes.
Several Senators met with CIA director Gina Haspel and listened to her report along with the audio tapes of the butchering of Jamal Khashoggi. Senator Lindsay Graham said, "we don't have a smoking gun. We have a smoking saw!" With all the circumstantial evidence, the top Trump administration hotdogs are refusing to do anything. One of them said that he would not listen to the tape, because it is in Arabic! Another said business with the Saudi Kingdom was more important. It seems for the Trump Organized Crime Operation, money is more important than human rights and the rule of law.
How do Republicans feel about these China tweets? I think Trump is doing some insider trading. He can effect the stock market with those tweets and his rich buddies love it. He says China will buy our cars. Does he know how expensive gas is there? Ford and GM now make only large SUVs, trucks, and sports cars for the most part. None of these are good for small roads built 1,000 years before cars were invented and efficient travel. They are only made for the American market.
Mueller gives a free pass to Mike Flynn. Seems he's been squealing like a pig and Mueller is grateful. He's recommending minimum jail time. One statement in the newly released Muelller documents states that: Who could he mean?
Chris Wallace of Fox News said a chill descended on George Bush's funeral. The Trumps are seated next to: 1) The president Trump said was illegitimate (Obama) 2) The president he said assaulted women (Clinton) 3) The first lady/SoS he said should be in jail (Hillary) 4) The president he said was the second-worst, behind Obama (Carter) ~ Aaron Blake
I just read the twist Mark Meadows had on this. I laughed so hard that my sister asked if she should call for an ambulance!
I was talking with someone about this and they were arguing that not all right wingers were like that, that there are many passionate about democracy and wouldn’t think of doing things like voter suppression, gerrymandering and stripping power from offices just because political opponents had been elected to those offices. The thing is if that is correct where is the outrage? For years I’ve been listening to almost incandescent right wingers shouting about shadowy lefty conspiracies to destroy democracy built on innuendo and imagination but here are some obvious and real world things happening and there seems to be only a murmur coming from the right, if that. Many on the right talk about wanting unity and consensus but you would think that the protection of democracy should be at the forefront of uniting both left and right, and it makes a lie of their supposed call for unity when they are silent because what is happening favours them.
