I recycle. I'm actually off to the centre on Saturday. I collected a big can drive while camping I have 3 garden bins and 3 garbage bags full of cans, bottles and plastic. I'm expecting around 50€ at the least if not more.
We have that too every two weeks but in Germany it's better to recycle. You can take your recycling to the depot spot at the supermarkets and in exchange for your recycling they will print out a docket you can use as a discount at the checkout. I have too much though so I need to go to the centre on Saturday. It's aa good way to collect pocket money. I usually fill these 3 bins for 35€. I think I'll get more than 50, but downplaying it just in case I get disappointed.
I don’t need that type of incentive to recycle, I think it’s my civic duty and the duty of all citizens to partake in keeping our world green
Neither do I, but it helps young families out. I love seeing small children and kids hunting pocket money. Running around after cans. I think it's good to see and a good incentive for them. A few cans = a chocolate bar. Well maybe 10 cans, it's not the 70s anymore hehe.
Don't recycle they said. A waste of time they said. Not recycling this, is better for the environment they said.
When I was a kid there used to be water fountains , drinking whatchamacallits everywhere, dont know why they got rid of them all, they want to cut down in garbage, bring those back
wishing fountain? lol I had a friend who worked security in the australian war memorial, he'd always pick up bums trying to steal from the hall of remembrance This waterway is laced with coins. .
People should stop moving to the U.S. They think we're all millionaires here, and we're not. There is no American Dream. Before the worst of WWII, our country denied so many Jews from coming here to escape Hitler and a lot of people don't know this. We only took them in after they had been through hell. Italians came here and had to be laborers to get by. And it's not like things have gotten better. I know born and bred Americans who can't even find one job that will pay a quarter of the rest they charge here. Buying a house is a fantasy for most of us. Just saying...stop coming here because you'll be disappointed.
I wasn't aware you could easily move to the US? I was under the impression you need a proper sponsor and job, and they'll look after their own before a foreigner. I asked a lot of questions when I was in America. I wanted to buy a house in the foothills of the Rockies. No point if I can't live there.
Just because a certain amount of Americans have a hard time getting by doesn't mean I would if i could get in. The easiest place to succeed for me financially/just settling and make a living would probably be the dairy state. I have already relatives (from south America) making a good living there. They're trying to get more in too haha. I'm sure if their employers would be able to get quality workers native born americans just as easily they would. But alas, seems not the case. I kind of understand: if I'd go to the states living and working in Wisconsin wouldn't be on top of my list either
Think they are kind of kidding themselves if they think US would be top destination everybody wants to move to
Well, its a consequence of advertising your country as THE land of the free and of endless possibilities if you work hard for it. That still attracts people. The USA was portrayed like that for decades (for a large part by themselves)
Yeah. All of humanity as a whole also really needs to rethink how we package everything. All those bottles, and then the packaging where you have plastic wrapped in more plastic...all of that is so unneccessary. Says I as I take a sip from the bottled water I just purchased. I need to do better
