Moderation really is key! But cool that it was really nice. Sometimes after awhile it can just hit one unexpectedly heavy or something. Guess you had a mellow strain

When I was 19 and off my L plates, I was coming home from a night out, just on my own. This will be significant in the story. I was coming home before midnight as my car was going to run out of registration and I went through a green light my windshield exploded. I hit the anchors fast and stopped, I thought someone maybe throw a brick in my windscreen.

I got out and saw bottles of wine, maybe I hit a shopping cart? I turned around and there he was. Dead. Right behind me. He'd gone through my windshield and over the top. Dead. I dropped to the gutter and sat down. People stopped, called the police.

The car behind me said, he was crouched down and when I approached he jumped at me. I didn't see it. I just remember my windshield exploding.

The police interviewed me, I went to court. Nothing happened even the prosecutor was on my side, I didn't do anything wrong.

Why that vacant seat was important is, if I had my misses now wife with me, the windshield would have ended up in her head, or him.

I remember sitting in the police car, I called her, I said I was in back of cop car. She freaked. My parents came to see me. I remember it was Martinsville race week. All I cared about in the car was Jeff Gordon. He won the race 3 days later.

That's why Martinsville and Jeff Gordon mean a lot to me. They're always there during my dark periods of life.

Ever since that night I'm unable to go through a red light without flinching.

Honestly my saving grace was that I never saw it. The lady in the house on the side she said the guy often lays in the middle of the road. He was housed at a mentally ill village. He used me to kill himself, I never stood a chance.

I can't see it happening. That's the only positive. But I'll never forget the windshield and the noise. I've never spoke about it here, I keep it to myself. Yet I think I think of it often.
. The guys brother tried to pin me for everything but the prosecutor wasn't biting. All witnesses said the guy lunged at me.
