Sometimes parents pass these things on by example, and sometimes not.

    I find that so interesting.

If my daughter sees a Palmetto Bug she freaks the fuck out. She didn't learn that from me.

I am not really bothered by moths but they definitely don't make me feel the same sense of majesty and awe that butterflies do. I associate moths with like old, dusty stuff, mostly see them at night too. I associate butterflies with like mid-day sun and blooming plants and everything. Moths don't seem as graceful in their movements either.

My guess is it primarily is due to them being nocturnal and the way they move.

I have not seen moths in a long time.
for real. a few cotton eaters
but none the big moths at all, no common white moths the dog would chase ..

There's hundreds of species of moths around here... Maybe it a city thing not to see them.

We've got lots of the small type moths around here.

I usually have a Luna stop by once a year.

Once, the grandkids and I found a moth about as big as a Luna but it was hiding the the brown leaves under the trees, blending in perfectly. You could hardly see it.

They're not as attractive as butterflies. I'm shallow I guess, when it comes to insects.

Lots of moths can be beautiful. I love the tiny purple ones.

I taught the grandkids that moths and butterflies are fairies.

The pretty ones are ladies and the more brown ones are men fairies, lol

That's pretty, a little furry, but pretty.

Maybe because moths tend to come out at night, and they swoop down and startle ya.

Nothing worse than spiders though, imo.
