What about taking toddlers from their moms and putting them in cages? You're talking George Washington and Thomas Jefferson here, and most historians would rank those in the top ten. I don't think it makes sense to import the moral standards of the twenty-first century to judge figures in the eighteenth, but it does make sense to hold twenty-first century presidents to the standards of the twenty-first century. The Donald just doens't measure up.
There were several other presidents besides Washington and Jefferson that not only supported slavery but nice work picking out the top 2. Yes Donald should be held to current standards and yes there have been some awful things that have occurred, but there have also been positive things that people and media gladly overlook. The idea of implementing better border control was good, the execution of it was most definitely not.
Maybe instead of wishing death to a president you simy vote. If you don't like the outcome suck it up like the rest of us. Or move the fuck away. That's my plan.
So it's that simple. If you come here seeking asylum, we take your kids away, even toddlers,, and damage them for life. What a mentality!
Carter might qualify for sainthood, but I agree he was a terrible President. G.W. is certainly a contender for the worst in my lifetime: two wars, torture and a recession. But he's lookin' better and better to me. Obama stands up relatively well, and I think historians will judge him favorably, despite the all-out, non-stop demonization by Fox, Breitbart and assorted racists.
Or maybe you continue to exercise your responsibility as a citizen and work for his removal or defeat. Death wishes are futile and uncivil.
Trump is merely a symptom, and without someone addressing the problem, we will continue to see more like him because voting no longer matters, and its just winner takes all and whoever owns the mass media and the courts. Conservatives tend to confuse mob rule with democracy, which is why only a conservative would call civil war a liberal idea.
We'll survive Trump, but we will survive the dumbing down of Americans? Or will we be giving plants what they crave in a few years? Only time will tell
Wars tend to cause tough economic times. I support the war he started on terrorism and the economic consequences. But he took it too far by taking Saddam out by using fabricated evidence to justify it.
It's a subtle creeping dismantling and gerimandering of Democracy in his name by right-wing forces with his benevolence..... I think he is too stupid himself to carry out such an agenda and thus is being manoverred and used by these forces to gain greater control of the levers of power. Look out America.....and the world.....keep awake Simon :-(
The white population is shrinking, and they have spread so much wonderful karma over the last two centuries that they no longer support democracy. Other than shopping at Walmart, they have no clue how you are supposed to buy your politicians.
Awwwww shit! We all gonna die! Fire! Brimstone! Suffering! Chaos! Death! Pray now you fools! Pray to your God Emperor for salvation from your doooooooooom!
Every study done by any university with any name for itself has implied our votes no longer matter. We just elected a guy who was a democrat, against the wishes of his own party leaders, because winning is all that matters anymore, which is how the civil war started.
