Time to stretch my philosophical muscles again. I rarely bother these days but this particular mindset has been pissin' me off a whole damn lot lately & I feel it's ignorance needs addressing. Cue the classical music & let us begin. First off what is this Cult of Good Vibes that I speak of? It is a mindset that I am findin' to be more & more prevalent amongst the new age"hippie" types these days. The premise behind this mindset is that the words one speaks are inherently positive or negative & that those words bring that energy into life in a deeply effectual manner. As such all should endeavor to speak positively at all times so as to essentially not bear the fruit of negativity into reality. Sounds great right? Well here's the problem with that. One need remember the intent behind spoken word. For example let's say I'm havin' a conversation with a fellow farmer & I state " I sure as shit hope it don't rain today." By the reasonin' of the Good Vibes mindset I would be speakin' negative energy with that statement. However I in sayin' such had no intent of negativity behind my words. It is the Good Vibe initiate who perceives my statement as negative & therefore if such things truly can affect reality is it not the Good Vibes initiate who is bringin' negativity into existence by determining such words to be negative? This person is livin' in hypocrisy by judgin' others to be negative & usin' such a baseline for existence in the first place. Or at least this is what I propose.
I've found most contemporary philosophies are vapid and relatively meaningless. I don't disagree with your assessment in the slightest.
Oh I don't know... it's good to be positive but OBVIOUSLY that means you take the intent of what someone says rather than the abstract words... doesn't it? Maybe I blank out people who are that stupid.
Ok. Lets start with something positive about Trump. Ok. Lets start with something positive about Trump. Ok. Let's start with something positive about Trump. Awwwww fuck it!
The reason for needin' rain ain't positive or negative it just is, same as the reason for not wantin' rain
If your not wanting it to rain is seen as negative, which in effect is going to cause it to rain...(negativity causing the un-desired outcome) but you really do need rain it becomes a positive outcome. Warped reverse logic works every time.
From what I gather, you are suggesting something to the effect of the "Cult of Good Vibes" doctrine is necessarily contingent on collectivist ideals. You see the mindset losing traction to the point of hypocrisy, when a Good Vibe initiate is interacting with individuals from an out group. You've conceded that your sentence contained negative energy though, so that's the source of the negative energy and their perception of it is perpetuating it.
Oh. Cult of good vibes isn't what I thought it was. I was thinking maybe a orgy of women buzzing their vibes. Disappointed.
As I say to everyone who tries that peace, love, & good vibes shit with me.....Fuck off ya damn hippy.
