actually my roommate's told me about a place down in dfw where I can pay 30 bucks and spend an hour smashing a junker car using pretty much whatever tools you want. I think I know what I'm getting for a present soon. lol

Yea, that’s pretty awful. But I believe, that the world is very round. Karma levels the field.

But money doesn’t make a person bad. I think people are who they are.

yeah. and there's some rich folks I quite like... just not around here. (I apparently haven't met the decent ones here, but it's a kinda creepy cultish stepford wives kinda thing, where if someone mingles with the 'miscegenated mongrels' they get ostracised and basically shunned. If the mayor disinvites you from golfing on saturdays, you literally might as well just pack up and move, because your career and life here is more or less over.)

haha yea, in my mind anyway, I've always imagined Texas to be one big clique. Fake southern hospitality, and all that. lol

yeah, there's the 'genteel plantation owners' and 'everybody else'

there's people here that're still hot about slavery being abolished and civil rights being a thing.

really it's not all that much different from being back in high school, to be honest. you've got the little shits that're in with the administration and can do no wrong, and then you've got 'the rest of the riff raff'

It's hard to not find someone who doesn't want to be part of that clique, or even wants to be servile to that clique. I mean, being frank about it, we've still got the 'Mammies' who clean the house and do the cooking around here and watch the kids. get paid less than minimum wage, and even talk in that damn blackface minstrel show mannerism, because they figure rubbing elbows with the rich brats and makin the family's soup is the best they can hope for. Which isn't surprising since the school district (the ONE school district) specifically targets children from poorer backgrounds for their 'criminal tendencies' If you're dark skinned, or just from the wrong side of the tracks, they look for any excuse to bust you, suspend you, then take your parents to court for you missing classes, because if you're not in the seat, you're not making the district money. (but the choir teacher who took his yearly budget and bought up a 1964 1/2 mustang, fully restored, got a verbal warning of /literally/ 'don't do it again.' )

Seriously, it is a rare occurrence for us. It was off in the distance, I saw it because some kids were getting all excited about it. I wish I could get that excited over that type of stuff still.

yeah, the original falls was destroyed in 1886 by massive flooding, so they 'recreated' them as a 54' high artificial one by the river.

When we were in Texas there was a tornado 40 miles away and I was like errr why is nobody scared of this but me? Lol. 40 miles sounded super close. Nobody battered an eye though.

We get a freeze in winter. That's about it lol. No hurricanes or tornadoes or anything.

40 miles.. pfft.. that's two towns over. now when you hear '5' miles.. you're gonna want to start looking around.

what is this magical land without high speed winds that'll impale you with a stick?
