What's Happening???

That's so nice!

 

i was right about what i should have done yesterday

the night was horrible

lets see if i can put it off another day .....

 

I've spent much of my work day daydreaming and planning future trips

Today i learned i can stay in a really nice airbnb in Budapest for just a little over $200 for 7 days, but it will cost almost $2000 to get there

 

Without doctors I'd be dead over ten years now. I get what you mean... Just coming from the other end of the spectrum, personally.

 

We went to walmart for the big pet supply haul - A 48 lb bag of cat food; a 16 lb bag, a ten lb. bag; a 10 lb. bag of dog food; 2 pig ears; and four 40 lb. boxes of cat litter. $100.29

Hubby wanted Arby's so we spent freaking $25 for lunch and dinner. I hate buying fast food.

That's just beyond horrible and I'm sorry you went through that. While I can't begin to comprehend the pain you felt/feel, I can certainly understand why you feel the way you do about doctors.

There's a million things I could say--none of it will make you feel better; none of it changed things. So all I can say is that I'm sorry. No parent should have to endure that.

 

My mom has had a pretty awful experience this month with her care too. Both doctors and nurses. Just absymal all around. But I think its the hospital system she's in. My city has two hospital systems and this one seems piss poor compared to the other one. I've had nothing but good experiences with the other one.

Doctors are a mixed bag, just like everything. One thing i've learned the past few years is the world is being ran by incompetent people, doctors are no exception .But there are some really wonderful ones too

And that is often true for a lot of people. The differences between hospitals can be night and day. That's why the vilification of doctors saddens me: some of them are wonderful people and great doctors, but they can be confined by bureaucratic red tape and fucked up policies enforced by hospital administration.

It's like most jobs, I suppose: if you're just an employee doing your job under either corrupt or inept management, you're only going to be so effective.

The hospital where you had your negative experiences...do you happen to know if it was a teaching hospital?

 

How did she end up at this hospital that isn't so great, if you don't mind my asking. Did she choose it or was it an insurance thing?

 

I appreciate the sympathy but I wasn't lookin' for it. I just thought you deserved an explanation as to my prior statements against doctors

As much as it pains me to say this because I hate the for profit healthcare model (please dont use this against me in future conversations about single payer healthcare LOL), it is a non profit hospital. And a Catholic hospital, I dont know if that makes a difference but my mom is now convinced Catholics like to make people suffer as part of their religion haha

Well, she had her diagnostic work done at the better hospital but when she was referred to a surgeon he only worked out of the subpar hospital. I guess she could have requested another referral but didnt realize it was subpar at the time

 

Now, it's getting to be time for me to unload that ton of crap from walmart - out of the car and into the house.

 

Food shopping?

Why not? We make ourselves suffer. Makes sense we'd want to bring everyone else along for the ride.
