George, they are Trump concentration camps and prisons. The Trump administration has lied over and over again. They've attempted to blame the need to separate kids from parents on Democrats. The truth is out now: Trump signed the order to do it, after Sessions had drafted it. Trump's Homeland Security clown is now trying to say these immigrant parents are committing fraud by bringing their kids to refuge in America. The truth is Trump ordered this horrible and abusive treatment of refuge seekers. Trump and Sessions are not processing immigrant claims for refuge. They are prosecuting immigrants for crimes, even when the immigrants had come to an official Port Of Entry. The United States had never done this before. This separating children from parents is new and ugly. This started by an executive order from Trump and is being carried out by Sessions.

Delicious. Note how he sidesteps the main issue to deal with the slavery issue and the merits of the King James Bible. The issue is child abuse and the Trump-Sessions policy of separating children of tender age from their parents. That is a moral issue that all major religions of the world and secular moral philosophers as well can agree on.

I've already told you that I can't possibly trust most of the press and you still feed me stuff that originates, from the press. Can you see how that is never going to "bring me around" to your way of thinking? I am more convinced that you're being duped by so many lies going out as news stories these days.

By the way, is there a country an American can sneak into without being arrested and incarcerated? I know it's not Mexico or Canada, so where is it?

But who brought up slavery? Oh yea, it was YOU!

In the context of dealing with the inappropriateness of Session's quoting of Romans. The issues are child abuse and the disingenuous efforts of Trump and his supporters to try to justify it. Thanks for continuing to illustrate the point by making slavery the central issue and raising the red herring of the validity of KJV. It was Sessions who brought up Romans to defend his mistreatment of children.

The children you're speaking of are being abused by the people dragging them through the desert to sneak across the border.

To get away from murderous thugs in Central America. Only to find even worse monsters in this country.

If that's your claim we should be watching refugees fleeing with their children from Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta and Memphis. But where would they go? How would they escape this horrible "racist" country? And why are people breaking laws to come to such a horrible place as the US is portrayed?

See, these are the fundamental questions that get pushed aside by phony moral arguments. It's as trite as watching Pelosi invoke the name of Christ in an attempt to "shame" hard right wing assholes. Not gonna happen Nan.

George, reputable journalism is based on the system of verification. Journalists verify before they report. FOX news went to the Supreme Court and won the right to tell false information, because they claimed to be in the entertainment business, not in journalism. The Washington Post, New York Times, Reuters verify their stories. As for Americans going around the planet, there are places where you can just walk in or sail in without persecution. Turkey will allow you to stay for weeks if you sail in on a private yacht. I think they will stamp your passport but not sure. Lots of countries allow Americans in because they want tourism money. As for permanent residency, I would say you have to apply. The immigrants at the Texas border claim they went to the official Port Of Entry. Some were caught crossing at illegal points and they should explain why they did so. But I still stand against the separation of children from parents. These immigrants are not Al Qaeda pilots. These are the poorest people on earth.

Just watched a video released from when journalists toured a detention center Sunday

If this is all a lie invented by the media i suppose everyone in the video were actors?

They're not immigrants either. Immigrants are people who approach becoming Americans legally. People who jump the border illegally are not immigrants. As for separating children, it's already US policy to do this when parents are arrested. If it's good enough for American criminals, why should foreign criminals fare any differently? If I rob a bank, I don't expect to share a cell with my kids.

That's exactly what Jeff Sessions says. What members of congress have found after interviewing some of these migrants is that they did go to official ports of entry. In other cases, the transporters of these migrants took them to illegal crossings. In that last scenario, there is law breaking, not in the proper one. Now, I do know there are American laws on the books which date back to WWII and even older. Mexican migrants have always been allowed to come and work in the USA in agricultural fields in states like Michigan, Ohio, and Colorado. The agriculture industry still uses these migrant workers. Why are today's migrants treated in such a disparate manner?

I want to clarify my understanding of the language here: immigrants are people who are immigrating to a new country to become citizens of the new country. Migrants are migrant workers who will return to their home nation when the work is done. Seasonal migrant workers who pick tomato or sugar beets get paid and then go home. Migrant workers have been used in Ohio, Kansas and Colorado for the last 75 years.

Migrant workers are a very small percentage of the overall working force. I knew an almond farmer who hired them and provided fixed bunk houses. Nobody else in the county gave him any grief since they were doing the same thing. Then came the complaints about how they "stole" jobs (which they didn't). This was foolishly answered with "but they do the jobs Americans won't do" which kicked off a shitstorm that lasted decades.

I have no gripes about migrant workers, they've been a part of economies all over the world. And in the US they migrate legally and the majority of them stay out of trouble. I'd rather have them picking our fruit than prison inmates.

To be a proper immigrant one must petition legally and plan to become an American. Anything else is usury.

Meanwhile Trump has ordered the forming of a space force.
Congress would have to pass law establishing a 6th armed service.

Trump has called for the creation of the Space Force.

Trump will be the Supreme Commander of the Universe.

President Trump directs Defense Department to 'immediately begin the process' of establishing 'space force' as sixth military branch
    - President Trump is directing the Pentagon to create "a space force" as the sixth military branch.
    - The president first floated the idea in March as a part of his national security strategy.
    - The White House, the Air Force and Secretary of Defense James Mattis disapproved of creating a sixth branch of the military last year.

He should talk to the Air Force. They would probably handle a space craft if one is needed in the future. But then he's going to talk to people who tell him how wrong he is. He seems to avoid that and surrounds himself only with yes men.

Traditionally much of what is done is space is an allied effort too. Don't think he will adjust too well to the idea of other countries being in this force unless it's Russia of course.

The United States isn't a horrible place. It just has a horrible President. As you say, there are pockets of the United States that are horrible--not as nearly bad though as Nicaragua, Honduras,Guatemala and El Salvador. Escape from the ghetto is difficult, because as you say, where would they go? Not your neighborhood, probably. People are breaking laws to come to the United States because conditions in their homelands are far worse than here, they hope to make a new start, and this place has been hyped as the Land of Opportunity. Give me the wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me..." And we'll take their kids from them and slap their asses in jail!

Separating parents from children is the real issue. We don't do that to the folks in Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, and Memphis, and we shouldn't be doing it anywhere in this country. If you think that's a "phony moral argument' , you need to get your heart examined.
