They do get away with it, but I don't know that they should. It's not good to perpetuate its use in our vernacular. :)

We have a president that reflects the class of people we have been listening to for too many years.

He is less cultured in his presentation but none the less reflects what has been going on for years in this country. Some people can call others names and get away with it, while others could not. If he tried to rise above it, he would not have gotten elected.

He got elected by a base who grew tired of being told they had to be careful in what they say to whom, while watching the other side say revolting things and being told to suck it up and say nothing about it. Like it or not, he reflects the reality of this country. He will probably get re elected when one side gets fired for being crass and the other does not. All it will do is entrench them in deeper to show they are tired of it being one sided and support him til the end.

So I just got back from my trip to Western Pa via the PA Turnpike and I noticed a change.

There used to be huge billboards supporting Trump and coal...Make America Great Again deals.
My two anti favorites were the one with Yoko Ono's picture on it by the Big Green Radicals (which sounds like an environmental group but it is actually anti solar, pro coal)
    And Madonna and Robert Redford
    [IMG]

Now they're all replaced with impeach Trump and fight the NRA billboards!

I couldn't find the anti NRA ones.

So even coal country is doing a 180. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, weren't the coal miners just another link a chain of groups he broke promises too?

Also, @MeAgain that's Lady Gaga, not Madonna :)

I saw that on my regular news source. Because the Trump crowd is looking so bad, he decided to put out some pardons for people who committed campaign related crimes...as a hint to Cohen & Manafort?

"Trump Pardons Dinesh D’Souza, Weighs Leniency for Rod Blagojevich and Martha Stewart
By Peter Baker and Eileen Sullivan
    May 31, 2018

Trump Pardons Dinesh D’Souza, Weighs Leniency for Rod Blagojevich and Martha Stewart

    excerpt:

Mr. Blagojevich appeared on “Celebrity Apprentice,” Mr. Trump’s reality show, and Ms. Stewart hosted an “Apprentice” spinoff show.

Moreover, all three of the cases were tied to prosecutors who have become nemeses of the president. Mr. D’Souza was prosecuted by Preet Bharara, the United States attorney in New York who was fired by Mr. Trump last year and has been one of his fiercest critics. Ms. Stewart was prosecuted by James B. Comey, the F.B.I. director who was fired by Mr. Trump last year and has engaged in a running war of words ever since."

Interesting as this is, the real news of the day was Trump's resumption of the trade wars by his tariffs on steel and aluminum levied against our major trading partners. All of them promised to retaliate, targeting products made in states that supported Trump. None of the stuff about pardons and tweets rubs off with the voters, but this is likely to come back and bit Trump's base in two ways: retaliatory tariffs on American producers and higher prices for American consumers. The Dow is down about 1000 points since Trump was elected. Gasoline prices are also going up since the U.S. broke the arms agreement with Iraq. And this is all heresy to the Republican establishment free traders. Republican Jeff Flake already called Trump's move stupid, and Ohio Governor John Kasich is piling on. It will be fascinating to see how this plays out in coming months.

I'm sure she is the typical left wing comedian to people like you. But few people find her as clever as a Jon Stewart of Stephen Colbert. There is a reason why before she had her own show she was on Stewart's show for a few minutes every week max. Her everything is because men are to me act wears thin.

Her show had not even debuted and she was bitching she was not a magazine cover with established late night names. She claimed it was because they were men. No lol it's because no one knows who are lady.

Even if Trump were impeached he might not be put out of office. The two presidents who were, Andrew Johnson and Clinton, were not removed from office. It takes a lot of negative votes and they'd have to come from Republicans in House And Senate to remove him. And so what if he were actually kicked out. Who would be president? Mr. Pence. Is he sincerely an improvement? I think it would be a Pyrrhic victory, at best.

I've never even heard of her until this outburst. Jon Stewart etc walk the line to not get censored. Some people cant help themsekves.

I never watched nor nor Roseanne before so I didn't care one way or the other what her show said. But the standard should be the same for retribution.

Blagojevich's wife was on FOX saying Trump is a very compassionate and kind man and a friend of their family. Anyone for "Draining The Swamp?"

Trump reportedly said he wants to stop German luxury car imports in the US

Trump reportedly said he wants to stop German luxury car imports in the US

    excerpt:

"President Donald Trump is hoping to block German luxury carmakers from the U.S. market, according to an exclusive report by German magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

Citing several unnamed U.S. and European diplomats, the weekly business magazine reported that Trump told French President Emmanuel Macron last month he would maintain his trade policy with the aim of stopping Mercedes-Benz models from driving down Fifth Avenue in New York. The report didn't give any further details on what policies would be used to effectively ban the premium carmakers.

The report comes less than two weeks after the U.S. Department of Commerce launched an investigation into automobile imports to determine whether they "threaten to impair the national security" of the U.S. That could lead to tariffs of up to 25 percent on the same "national security" grounds used to impose metal imports charges in March."

Friends in high places: How Trump uses the power of the pardon
If you want help from the president, it helps to be famous, to know him personally or to accuse the government of executing a high-profile witch hunt against you.

Friends in high places: How Trump uses the power of the pardon

    excerpt:

"Each pardon sends its own message — Trump will reward loyalty, political ideology, fame, personal friendship and the ties that bind people with common enemies — and the Kremlinology of Trump's formula for granting pardons is fast becoming a cottage industry in Washington."
