The idea of sharing a toothbrush with anyone else grosses me out though. I guess my reasoning with my bf is that we already have all of eachothers germs.
Sharing a toothbrush is akin to eating food that someone has already chewed before you put it in your mouth.
If we were traveling somewhere and one of us forgot our toothbrush, okay. Fine. I'm cool with that. But not everyday. Like, a couple sharing one toothbrush? Nah, that's all kinds of bizarre
We don't deliberately mix the toothbrushes up, but mistakes happen at times. Our brushes go in the dishwasher a few times a week to keep them free from congealed toothpaste and limescale. Along with rinsing them with hot water after use, it seems to me just like drinking from a washed cup that someone else has used the previous day..
Speaking for myself, my husband and I have our own toothbrushes. We don't share on a daily basis, But have we been away at a hotel and one of us forgot and used the others, yes
Funny story. This was a long time ago. My brother and his girlfriend stayed with us for a few weeks. My husband didn't like it. He fussed until it caused an argument and they left, mad. A few days later my brother called and said to remind my husband that they both had red toothbrushes and to tell my husband that he'd been using my brother's for the last four days. In other words, my brother was pretending he swapped toothbrushes with my husband to gross my husband out. It was super funny if you were there when it happened.
I guess if you had to share in a pinch, then maybe it’s ok, but not on an everyday basis, it’s kinda gross. You can buy a toothbrush for a $1 at the dollar store, so why share?
if you have decent insurance, you can get it for free when you get your free dental cleanings a couple times per year.
considering as how i have no one currently with whom to do so, other then possibly ghosts or my imagination, i would have to say: yes. (oddly i'm not entirely sqwckd out by the thought, but it would certainly have to be someone of choice who i really really really knew well)
