Yeah, these darn meddling kids trying to put an end to gun massacres. Can't they see that's just the price we have to pay for our freedom to own machine guns? Background checks are a slippery slope! If you take away the right of an unstable looneytoon to buy an AR-15, next thing you know a responsible citizen who owns a handgun for self-defense will have their door kicked in by jack-booted government thugs aiming to take it away! And when all our guns have been taken away they'll ship us all off to work camps! Not that Donald Trump would ever let that happen, he's making America great again! So let's make all weapons including bazookas legal and easy to purchase!

Marijuana on the other hand, that shit is dangerous, make it totally illegal. Death penalty for drug dealers!

All true .....Adults are supposed to protect kids ..... kids are getting murdered in school at record numbers ...... kids ask for help, get none ...... kids protest ......Definitely the kids fault. These are the same people who also say these same kids who are not sufficiently emotionally developed to participate in the political process are more than ready to buy assault weapons.

You nailed it though - the deaths are the price of the freedom. That freedom is either worth it for you or its not.

Speaking of drugs and hypocrisy though .... let's criminalize pot users (despite the wishes of states and citizens) but appoint someone who admittedly had a $100k a month coke habit

Mr. machinist, sarcasm is totally lost on you. Anyway, on March 24th while I'm out participating in the March for our Lives, you will most likely be joining Trump's Space Force with all the other Space Cadets.

The kids are just jumping on the bandwagon. You know they didn't come up with the idea for the walkout; right?

Kids are supposed to be protected by adults. Kids are getting murdered in school at record numbers. The kids are begging for help. Criticizing children is pretty low

Attempting to put words in my mouth is even lower, Ms. Kerri.

Do you know where this walkout originated, or not?

    1. Are you asking where the walkout originated so you can praise the kids? 2. Yes and does it matter? It doesn’t change any of the facts. The emotions of tne kids are real. I care about what they stand for and I care about protecting them

How about you don't try insinuating that I don't?

I’m sorry you’re so sensitive that you read into that. I stated my opinion not yours

Why are you asking about the origin of the protests? Is that to praise the kids? I don’t want to insinuate anything

Could you provide the source from which you came to that conclusion?

    Who cares where it originated

Kids aren't retarded, pardon my use of a crude word but everytime I hear someone call these kids pawns it comes off sounding like they arent capable of independent thought . It isnt like you magically become a sentient being once you turn 18 (hooray you can think for yourself now, now go buy a gun. Happy Bday!).

Kids and particularly older teenagers are well able to form their own thoughts and opinions and I think its pretty insulting to suggest they're only walking out because the adults in their lives are making them, or manipulating them, or whatever. The kids have more at stake in school shootings than the adults who have stood by idly as shooting after shooting after shooting happened. I'm quite sure they feel passionately about it and have given the subject a great deal of thought independent of the adults in their lives.

When they first started to organize, the gun lovers said they were actors, just like the parents of the kids who died at Sandy Creek. It's what folks say when they want to deny reality. In the days of the Civil Rights movement and sit-ins, the protestors were dismissed as "outside agitators'".

You have yet to tell us who you believe came up with the idea for the walkout, so I'll just say the kids did in fact come up with the idea. Your reply should be interesting.

I think it's beautiful that young people were embracing and exercising their First Amendment rights.

These student walkouts are an example of why I love my country.

It matters who organized the walkout because the students were used as political pawns.

I'll show you where it originated and you can just follow the trail from there.
