More pages and still nothing of any worth from the gun lobbyists - and I mean NOTHING - look at this thread (and any of the others) and it’s the same recycled shit, in fact it’s less than shit, shit can at least help plants grow what they spew forth has even less worth or substance (you might even say its toxic).

Reading through the thread for anything of worth I began thinking that they remind me of some type of comic zombies, their stance is dead but still they shuffle on, grunting and groaning ‘guns…guns…I want guns’

 

But seriously I have noticed one thing that I’m finding rather disconcerting

I realised rather early in discussing the gun issue in the US and that was that some of the gun lobby arguments seemed to be based on a certain racist view of America.

But it seemed to me that for the vast majority of the people presenting such arguments didn’t realise the racist element or had not understood the racist inclination of what they were preaching (some did)

I tried to explain what I saw as the racism behind the arguments and believed that if those people understood this they would be repelled by that insight.

But reading through this thread its beginning to feel like many in the gun lobby are beginning to see the racism but rather than being repelled they don’t seem to care or are willing to accept it, in themselves and others.

Now while I find that rather disappointing it also puts the idea that the gun lobby try to push that they have guns to protect the American people from ‘bad’ government into a different light.

I mean if these ‘protectors’ are acceptable of so much racism haven’t they already turned to supporting bad ideas and therefore more likely to promote ‘bad’ government rather than oppose it?

 

Today was a National School Walk-out Day to protest the Florida school shootings.
Watched it all on MSNBC.
Let us give credit to MSNBC for covering a walkout on Chicago's South Side where earnest students protested gun violence and asked for peace and understanding for all peoples.
I would have assumed that this Network would by-pass the Chicago story, Not so. Kudos to MSNBC and kudos to Chicago's young men who spoke profesionally on a news forum.

Its hard to take kids seriously for skipping school. I mean its already hard enough to take kids seriously. And they shouldnt be taken seriously.

I thought I was agreeing with you--- like never mind the kids. OK--I wasn't. Of course I do believe that the young should be listened to much more. Look at the old people running this joint!! Little story= I was told to be quiet, children are to seen and not heard; I was humiliated in public, I was never listened to in my "so_called '"family. I suffered from it for years. Now---I don't give a shit--I say what I like and it might not always come out gently. I don't dislike you or any others in here--I just disagree vehemently.

 

I think you'll find that lots of people are taking them seriously. So should the Republicans in Congress, if they know what's good for them. Now you, I don't take seriously at all.

 

Most of the high schoolers who walked out today will be eligible to vote in the 2020 election .Young people aren't the most active voting demographic but maybe this generation will be different.

Like an older gentleman pointed out to me a couple of weeks ago...his generation lowered the voting age. No one took them seriously at first either.

Just watched a video on instagram of some highschool kids at a school basketball game waving Trump and NRA flags. Good for them.
