Nikki Haley, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nationshas, made what sounds like a veiled threat of retribution to countries the way they vote on resolutions related to the decision to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem

Haley sounds like a school teacher taking down names of those wno misbehaved and reporting it to the principal.

After U.S. veto, U.N. General Assembly to meet on Jerusalem status

    excerpt:

"U.S. Ambassador Nikki Haley, in a letter to dozens of U.N. states on Tuesday seen by Reuters, warned that the United States would remember those who voted for the resolution criticizing the U.S. decision.

“The president will be watching this vote carefully and has requested I report back on those countries who voted against us. We will take note of each and every vote on this issue,” Haley wrote."

Yes the bottom fell out in the market in 2003, and again in 2008 or 2009.

Trump passed no laws to impact the stock market. Stocks were already on the way up thanks to President Obama. Stocks were down to historic low during the Bush administration. We had a serious crash when Republican Bush was President. Obama took corrective action and brought the economy back. Trump hasn't even signed his tax bill yet. He has only sign laws that keep poor people from other countries out, and laws that damage American public land and the environment.

Aside from any other conversations around here, I really don't understand your contempt for the Obama family. I know Trump called him a "bad, sick guy', but can that really be an apt description of a black man--a real decent acting , educated family man without a hint of scandal about him? A man that worked himself hard enough to become a lawyer? I don't get the idea that you think calling them names, mis-naming them and showing so much disrespect to the man and his family is something right to do. I'm not going to be critical of Trump here--just compare their lives and actions toward others in their lives to one another. Really not much of a comparison. I think I get why you're here-at least partially. Liberals--progressives are easy to stir up when faced with posts/ïdeas" such as you post. I said in an earlier post concerning you--that I was done reacting to you--and I am. Sooooo---last note to you.

Word for word and line by line, what he stands for is exactly what the Alt Right, KKK, and the Republican party stand for.

The Richest 10% of Americans Now Own 84% of All Stocks
    By Rob Wile

The Richest 10% of Americans Now Own 84% of All Stocks

    From the article:

"The top 10% of American households, as defined by total wealth, now own 84% of all stocks in 2016, according to a recent paper by NYU economist Edward N. Wolff.

That number—which accounts for individual shares as well as stocks held via mutual funds—represents a big change from 2001, when the top 10% owned just 77% of all stocks.

So where is middle-class wealth? Wolff finds that the majority of it remains tied to homes. That’s quite different from the wealth holdings of the very rich, whose assets are tied up in equities (whether as publicly held stocks or privately owned shares of businesses). For the richest Americans, a principal residence accounts for just 7.6% of their total wealth.

So even as Trump touts stock market gains under his administration, only a fraction of Americans will be able to mark much of a change in their wealth status."

In his usual narcissistic display, Trump claimed the stock market rally to be all the result of him.

Although the stock market has performed very well for a post-election rally, it's not the best in history and it's narcissistic for Trump to claim he is the sole cause of it.

Trump Loves Taking Credit for Stock Market. Other Presidents Did Better

    excerpt:

"Companies have also benefited from strong economic tailwinds. Interest rates have maintained historic lows, making it cheaper to borrow money. International markets have also been strong, as the oil glut begins to taper and Chinese and European economies strengthen — helping U.S. multinationals surge amid potential increases in international sales.

Trump can definitely claim some credit for the surging market thanks to his promise of tax reforms, Silverblatt says. Investors are now eagerly watching Washington as Congress moves on the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The GOP-proposed plan would slash the corporate tax rate from 35% to 20%. Wall Street analyst are expecting those cuts to boost corporate bottom lines."

The running average gains of the Dow Jones industrial Industrial Average was actually higher for Obama during his first 11 months in office (30%) compared with Trump (25%). Obama didn't make narcissistic claims about it.

Clinton had the best overall performance during his 8 years in office compared with all other presidents.

In the chart in the webpage, percentage gains at any particular time can be seen by running the mouse over the graph.

"It's all because of me" is one of Trump's classic lines.

    Assorted Trump narcissistic remarks.

Trump: Stock Market Booming ‘Because of Me’

“The reason our stock market is so successful is because of me,” he said. I’ve always been great with money, I’ve always been great with jobs, that’s what I do."

Trump claiming that his unfilled government positions represent valuable cost savings.

'I'm the only one that matters': Trump disregards State Department's unfilled positions

"The one that matters is me," Trump continued Thursday night. "I'm the only one that matters because when it comes to it, that's what the policy is going to be. You've seen that, you've seen it strongly."

"It's called cost saving," Trump said. "I want my vision, but my vision is my vision anyway."

The 155 Craziest Things Trump Said This Election

“It’s all because of me,” (Bloomberg interview, regarding NATO decision to create new intelligence post, June 8, 2016)

“The truth is we wouldn’t be talking about illegal immigration if it weren’t for me.” (on Sean Hannity’s show, July 15, 2015)

“I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively, I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall.” (Campaign launch speech, June 16, 2015)

An alternative assessment of Trump's narcissism.

The Allure of Trump’s Narcissism - Los Angeles Review of Books
    By Elizabeth Lunbeck
    AUGUST 1, 2017

The Allure of Trump’s Narcissism - Los Angeles Review of Books!

    From the article:

"Everyone may be an expert, but all this expertise — including that found in the DSM — does not explain Trump’s appeal. What we need to do is acknowledge the often considerable charisma and charm that enable some high-functioning and successful narcissists to extract from adoring acolytes the admiration that sustains their sense of self. This understanding of narcissism is rooted in psychoanalytic thinking and, while now found throughout the literature on leadership, it is missing from popular discussions. It is indispensable to understanding Trump. After all, unappealing narcissists pose little threat in a democratic political system; few voters will willingly tie their fortunes to a monster. It’s the successful and beguiling narcissist, the one who flatters, seduces, and finally enslaves you into mirroring his (most of these narcissists are men) greatness and feeding his bottomless appetite for approval who is dangerous."

"The psychoanalyst-turned-leadership guru Michael Maccoby usefully calls such individuals “productive narcissists,” and locates Trump in their ranks. He argues that Trump’s personality is similar to those of “charismatic leaders who emerge in times of turmoil and uncertainty, when people are ready to follow a strong leader who promises to lead them to greatness” — Make America Great Again. Freud took note of this type more than 80 years ago, writing that such individuals are aggressive, not easily intimidated, and primed to “take on the role of leaders.” They “impress others as being ‘personalities,’” Freud continued, warning they were capable of damaging “the established state of affairs.” These narcissists are appealing but also dangerous visionaries. You won’t find them in the DSM. Then again, psychiatry and the DSM don’t own narcissism."

"The question then becomes less “is Trump a narcissist” — and more “how does Trump mobilize his narcissism to connect with his followers.”"

"How, then, did Trump convince the proverbial little person that he actually cared about him or her? Consider how Trump invites people to identify with him and thus share in his omnipotence and power. His braggadocio and rule-breaking incite envy among those who have little to boast of and feel imprisoned by their circumstances. His offer is of course illusory — no amount of speechifying will launch the little guy into the economic stratosphere Trump inhabits. But Trump has some awareness of what he is doing. “I play to people’s fantasies,” Trump writes in his best-selling The Art of the Deal."
