they did say devout as opposed to orthodox.....devout just means you spend a lot of time on something whereas orthodox means basically no dork for dick
A commissioned work of art is different from a business that sells to the general public. Essentially you are entering into a private contract with a private artist, not dealing with a public business. You can't force a freelance artist to produce art. An artist controls the copyright to their work, a baker doesn't. That means the artist gets a say in what he or she produces.
if subway employees can call themselves sandwich artists, i think cake artist is a perfectly acceptable title.
Hello, the five of us are having a group marriage . Mmm .. would you bake us a birthday cake ? How old are you ? Five . Five candles then ? And some candy bears , too One candy bear ? Bears , bears , bears ....
They're in Denver for fuck sake. It's a city full of bakeries that would've been happy to make them a gay wedding cake. But noooooo, they decided to go bigot shopping and make it a supreme court issue, wasting everybody's time.
It will remain a complex issue for many years to come. Perhaps being female has made it slightly easier for our family member. We had a plane wedding cake and the girls finished the icing themselves. LOL
Nothing is more offensive to my homosexuality than a bunch of straights who feel the need to exploit their own self worth and ego and pretend to care to spare our feelings. Its a fucken cake. Motherfucker didn't get his fucken cake. Boo fucken hoo. Go somewhere else. The fact that the 2 homosexuals participating in this thread can laugh it off as well as a direct family member can also laugh makes every other point invalid. Some of you are just instigators with nothing better to do than to cause drama over something you aren't even a part of but feel the need to make a statement on our behalf and for what? We already don't care. Stop pretending. The simple fact I'm a straight up lesbian with a conflicting opinion nullifies your opinion against mine. Why bother arguing with me over it? My opinion is one of the only ones that matters here. Take a good look at yourselves, you're no better than a homophobe, sitting there shutting down whatever I think about the subject that's really only relevant to people like me and you tell me I'm wrong. What a joke. Until I am completely overwhelmed from other homosexuals with an opposite opinion, I'm standing with my original statements. What y'all should be upset with is the waste of time and tax payers moneys this is going to use up. Over a cake. Or lack of a cake. That's the problem with this news story, the fact it made a headline. Cake eaters.
Gender bias cakes, that'll be next. This pink frosting is too feminem! Change it now or I'll sue I'm offended. Did you just assume that cakes gender? :d
You don't have to make an issue of the cake unless you want to. This couple wanted to. Have a cake made and stick your two little grooms on top after you get it delivered. It's really not a big deal unless you want it to be.
Was it a male or female couple because if it's female I'm disappointed because they should know better and get their asses back in the kitchen to bake their own.
It seems so trivial, yet I hope they make a law that says "Thou shalt make the gay wedding cake" or "thou shalt not pick and choose whose wedding cake to custom make, such that equality is readily available to all walks of life". I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if the supreme court shuts it down though. Anyway... I hope it wins.
Let me get this straight, you're a homosexual so that makes you right about any issue that involves homosexuality? Further, if we are concerned about violations of constitutional rights, or morals, even though they don't directly involve us we're "pretending". If we express our opinions about the way we think homosexuals are mistreated and you don't agree with us...that makes us homophiles, just because you're a homosexual? Nice.
I would rather see a case before the court that involved equal housing or employment instead of a damn cake.
I apologise for being rude, I just once feel offended by something. My gay opinion wasn't good enough for a straight person on a gay subject and then use something as callous as racial bigotry to argue against me. No that hasn't sat well. You didn't have to agree with me, I know my opinions are often abstract but you could have taken a minute to process and maybe it would have given you some insight to know that maybe, just maybe there are homosexuals out there that are sick and tired of the negative attention and drama caused by rediculous thingsike this cake. It's time to stop. Seriously.
It's a gay issue in a gay section. Leave it at that. There's the whole rest of HF to sort out anything else you want to sort out.
