In the real world of politics, we must choose between relative evils, and Republicans have been far more evil on the race question than Democrats--starting with tricky Dick's southern strategy of "law and order" dog whistles, continuing on to Lee Atwater's Willie Horton ads for Bush 41, and culminating in the Master Race Baiter, the Donald, with his birtherism and divisive tweets. No minority in his or her right mind would think that the Donald or the Republicans are on their side. What have Republicans since Lincoln ever done for African Americans? Our previous President was one.

Looking through years of failed policies that have contributed to high poverty rates in black communities seems like an interesting research project, I think I WILL look into it through legitimate research..I have looked into it a fair amount in the past and I will say we are not strictly talking failed Democratic policies here, far from it

But speaking of race baiting shaman is using a tactic here I've seen before, wherein someone, when speaking with liberals, will share a conservative leaning viewpoint expressed by a black person so that if a liberal disagrees with said black person's POV they can be called out for not being a good liberal and automatically accepting a voice from the black community...

Er..something, I dunno the point really. But I've said this probably dozens of times over the years at HF, a person spouting their opinion on youtube is just a person spouting their opinion in YouTube; ie not a good source. Poverty in minority communities, poverty in ANY community is a complex issue worth researching but watching YouTube videos is a waste of time as far as research

I was too busy bitching about him sabotaging our country at the expense of him helping terrorist nations in the middle east, helping the mexican drug cartel, Islamic terrorism and helping to bring every third world country up to our par while taking us down a few pegs.

You gotta be kidding. Republicans fought Obama on virtually everything he did, and even griped about his use of executive orders. It's amazing Obama accomplished as much as he did for African=Americans under the circumstances. For some of those accomplishments, see the White House’s Progress of the African-American Community during the Obama Administration. That site gives facts on lots of gains from higher income levels to extra funds distributed to historically black colleges and the creation of the My Brother’s Keeper program. The Trumpster controls not only the Executive Branch, but unlike Obama, has majorities of his own party in both houses of Congress. He's shown no serious interest in getting anything done for the African-Americans. On the contrary, he has revived birtherism, defended confederate monuments, ridiculed African-American NFL players, backed Roy Moore, etc..

Trump started a commission to investigate his own conspiracy theories about his 3 million vote loss margin in the presidential election. Like Alex Jones, Trump has claimed voter fraud. Trump's commission has yet to produce anything. Trump made Kris Kobach of Kansas the vice chair of the commission. Kobach is known for his birther conspiracy claims that Obama isn't a U.S. citizen.
