Barefoot in a video game

I don't know how many of you play video games but I just thought it was cool that in the new Grand Theft Auto you can play the game barefoot if you want to. Funny part is the people in the game comment you on how you are dressed and I never get a negative comment about being barefoot even in the restaurants (Yep you gotta eat in this game too) unless i changed into some sloppy cloths like a tank top. Too bad its not like that in the real world.

 

agh, i cant wait to get that game.. iv it pre ordered and its comin on Friday..

cool thing is tho in a game you can beat the s*** out of someone who runs a restaurant if they try to make you put shoes on and then can just reload the game before the cops come and do it all over again hehe Anyways in real life id just threaten to go take my business elsewhere and id make a big deal about the fact they wouldnt lemme come in barefoot and im sure they wouldnt wanna losee the business.

 

I know u cant do that in the grand theft auto game but im sure there r other games u can do that in. itd just be great to screw over the people running the restaurant and be able to order your food anyways.

 

There is a game coming out soon called World of WarCraft. it's an MMORPG (basicly a roleplay game that you play with thousands of other people at the same time)....

In this game I'm going to play a Night Elf Druid called Xepheus. Now with my character being a durid (nature-based) and a night elf (more nature-based), then I like the idea of letting this character get back to nature... to be connected with the world as she plays...

To do this, I'm going to play her barefooted.

I like the idea that the souls of her feet will be connected to the ground at all times. To me, (in a roleplay sense) this is how she'll get her energy/mana, from the groud via her feet.

Now from the game's engine point of view... the fact that i'm going to pay her barefooted will have no diffrence at all (apart from the fact that I'm going to lose out on some armour protection that i would have got from her footware), but I don't care.. it's a roleplay thing...

Glad to hear about that in the new GTA game, sounds ace.

 

Yeah u can do those roleplaying games barefoot if you dont put any shoes on the character or any clothes if they dont specifically let you pick shoes and then you can just either use cheat codes to protect yourself or use things in the game. Ive never played that game specifically but ive played others that r similar.

Dan, I did'nt know you were into WoW! Have you played any of the betas yet? I applied for the first and ST, but did'nt get in We should play together once euro goes retail.

 

Another WoWer? - that's great. Yeah, i'm currently in euro-beta (had to lick some arses, but got in), and I'm loving every second of it. Been playing almost non-stop since it finished downloading early sunday morning.

So far I've got a level 15 human pally (which, tbh, I don't like very much, so for my tanking class, i'll be a warrior at retail I think) and a level 10 tauren druid (which is a bit weird...). my main, when the game goes retail, is going to be a NE Druid, so I make a tauren druid to find out what druids are like, without spoiling the NE experiance.

Notice the BARE FEET!!! Night Elf Druids start the game barefooted, and at this point she's only level 2... but I made a promise to myself that I'm going to keep her barefooted all the time. I don't actully do roleplay (i.e. I don't get into character), but I think I can be forgiven wanting to play her barefooted... after all... she just looks so cool!!

UPDATE: I've just been told off by HippyFreek2004 for thinking that she's "hot". Now while I do believe that she is hot, I mean so in a relative sense. I.e. - she's nothing more than a collection of pixels on a computer screen. And I know this. I'm sure not going to kick a real girl out of bed in exchange for her.... But in the game world, she's one of the hottest things you're ever going to see.... Night Elves just OOZE sex appeal, and as she's MY character, I'm obviousy going to see her as being the best .

 

Thats cool that you can go barefoot in a game, I hope they make more games like it. And NOTHING will ever touch Gran Turismo 4 on PS2!!! I have it payed for and waiting to pick it up on Nov 15th

 

Good grief, those graphics make me want to barf out of a window.

What an ugly character, lousy low-res textures, and GOD, those feet look worse than those on characters in Fable (and those are some ugly feet for sure).

Another reason to hate MMORPGs.

On the subject of bare feet in games... Let's just say that when early Street Fighter games came out, I would pick Guile just to beat the hell out of people who played Ken and Ryu. When Akuma came along, I laughed long and hard, because it's damn difficult to look intimidating when you're barefoot. Then I started to beat the hell out of people who played Akuma, too.

Without bragging, I am one of the best Guile players alive, and I'll gladly prove it to anyone here should we ever meet in the vicinity of a Street Fighter coin op machine (rare as they are these days). I sincerely hope you pick one of the Shotos, so I can kick your barefoot ass.

I feel sorry for you, if you judge all your games based on graphics... games are about 'game play'.. not graphics.

Yeah, I'll admit that WoW doesn't have the most advanced graphics engine, but they've done that on purpose... and I happen to like WoW's style... (screenshots do it no justice.. you need to play the game to see just how good it all goods).

But you know what.. your loss

 

Excuse me, gameplay? What gameplay? In MMORPG?


They are all the same, no matter how much they are being spun by the publishers, it's all been done before times 10000 in text-based MUDs - and might I add, with more character.

Additionally, people who play MMORPGs are generally utter losers; days when you could meet someone like Sarah Crisman online while pretending to be an half-elf mage 100 / priest 80 are LOOOOONG gone.

So if I'm going to hang with a droll crowd doing something that is FAR from new, AND pay through the nose for it too, I'd at least like some eye candy, for chrissake...

And in general, RPGs are meant to be played alone - FFS, I'm playing to get away from people, not to get to know them better...

 

Astaroth, If that's how you feel about them... fair enough.. that's up to you. But please don't slag off people that do enjoy them.. that's just low... not to meantion pointless.

I don't specificly like flight sims... can't stand them in fact.. but you don't see me slagging off peope that do.. it's just not nice.

I happen to very much like WoW. Is that too much for you to accept? the fact that someone might enjoy something that you don't?
