THE MEETING (Revisited...again)

I had an experience with a rather simple-minded co- who does not speak English as his first language. To make matters more intense (as opposed to worse), he doesn't even speak the native language of his native country as a first language. He grew up as a speaker of a minority language in a remote part of his archipelago.
I had cleared him of misconduct (inappropriate touching of another co-worker). He seemed credible and truly saddened that everyone was picking on him. Well, I came to learn that his side of the story is not always the gospel truth. And even though I think of him as simple-minded (my own term), I have come to learn that he can be quite crafty when re-creating his version of events.
...
On Friday I received notice that the co- is the subject of an investigation. It's corporate terminology for you are going to be grilled and it ain't going to be too pleasant.
Sadly, the representation for this is limited and I might be called up to the plate. I dread it something fierce! I hardly trusted him the first time 'round, but I was passionate about his defense. This time? Well... not so much. Folks have shared different parts of the story and the story doesn't look too good with regards to the co-.
I'll probably rename the topic rather than continue with it here as such.
