Ejaculation Versus Orgasm in Men

Ejaculation and orgasm are two different functions of the male sexual response cycle. They most always occur together but don't have to. An orgasm is the peak of sexual function. When orgasm comes it releases built up sexual tension and is felt throughout his body. Ejaculation is just the release of seminal fluid or semen from the prostate area. They happen nearly at the same time but there is a separation in time between the two. Next time you masturbate sense yourself as you head for that point of no return. Observe that there is a very small time difference between ejaculation start and orgasm. And yes, a man can orgasm without ejaculating. It's known as a dry or a full body orgasm. Rarely if ever will he ejaculate without having that orgasm feeling happening with it. But he can have the feeling without ejaculation.

In order to answer the question of what is considered an orgasm, let's look at what an orgasm is. An orgasm is a release of sexual tension gained from constant stimulation of the penis. It begins with muscle contractions around the anus and perineum, the area between the anus and scrotum or ball sac. Involuntary actions such as guttural sounds from the throat and spasms in other areas of his body occur with a generally euphoric sensation. The key to an orgasm is that release of any sexual tension. So if while edging, or even pausing during intercourse, an euphoric feeling can come across the male body lowering any sexual tension for the moment. At this point he has had an orgasm albeit a smaller one than at climax.

Orgasms are experienced differently as an individual versus other men. Depending on the type of stimulation used, such as masturbation, a sense of releasing that tension can flow through the body multiple times before going ahead and peaking with ejaculation. From experience my own orgasm level will vary. There are times when I begin my sexual cycle and let it flow right into orgasm and ejaculation. Other times I will reach a level of stimulation, stop at the edge (edging), and enjoy a feeling of euphoria for a moment or two. Then continue on to another stopping point or go on to my climax. When I hit that peak where I will complete the sexual cycle or climax, orgasm becomes so intense sometimes I lose control of my extremities and even become hoarse from the sound I emit from my throat. All this is due to the immense pleasure I receive from having sex which is probably why I'm addicted to it.
