@Toker.. yes, we do.. I can't really see a reason to finish Life anywhere else (if I have a say in it)...

in our late 20s in LA (late 1970s), the city I was born/raised in was no more.. only 11 million in all of CA when born.. 13 -14 million in high school.. LA really took off in late 1970s.. I was done with 'Nam/Army at 20 yo.. but mid '70s saw millions of captured & no longer needed M-16s and millions of unnecessary AK-47s make their way to USA.. then gang wars weren't tire jacks, chains, knives and handguns.. the rot began, and they kept building around it to make it look pretty.. but I knew it wasn't the town I knew anymore and never would be.. OLDER 3/2 homes with 1,300 sf homes on tiny lots that were $38K in '72 were $320K in '80... too many people.. too costly.. it was time to go.., we went north to Redding, CA.. bought a NEW 1,250 sf 3/2 house on 1/3 acre in city for $62.5K.. then - in 1992 - got great jobs & moved north an hour to Mount Shasta and raised a family.. we were home! home!

you could fit ALL of YELLOWSTONE, YOSEMITE, GLACIER NPs in our county (Siskiyou) yet we only have 41,000 people.. stay outside towns and you'll see more deer, bear, coyote, antelope, elk, eagles, occasional bobcat.. we even have three wolf packs now..
I don't want to live anywhere else..

now there's - what - 23 million people south of Bakersfield?.. jeeeesh...
