His boat reminds me of Fred Flintstone's car. It's a beautiful old man, though. I like his face. He looks hopeful.
@Totally Yoda You should read it! It's about a fisherman who goes months without catching anything. He then hooks a huge marlin, the catch taking him days. As he returns with the fish lashed to his boat, sharks attack and by the time he gets back, little is left of the fish, but it's obvious that it had been huge. A young boy, who has been forbidden to associate with old Santiago by his parents, visits him often. He worries about him and loves him. At the end, I remember the old man having a dream about a beach in Africa with lions on it. I'm going to read it again. It's been a long time, but I remember it was good. I think Hemingway won the Pulitzer Prize for it.
Esto me recuerda al monumento a los pescadores en Conil de la fontera en AndalucĂa ;-) This reminds me of the fishermen's monument in Conil de la fontera in Andalusia ;-)
@*pixy* I do love the tradition of placing beautiful and meaningful works of art along the Malecons and waterfront walkways. They do it along the coasts of Spain, and in the towns along the coast here in Baja California Sur.
