Transformus Hippy Photos

Transformus is an arts festival convened in the south-eastern United States near Asheville, North Carolina, inspired by Burning Man. (Note: In June 2008, Transformus had its status as an official Burning Man Regional Event revoked due to the Transformus LLC's lack of Civic Responsibility and Transparency.[1]) Transformus celebrates the principles of radical inclusion, gifting, decommodification, radical self-reliance, radical self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, leaving no trace, participation and immediacy. The festival forms a temporary city called Mysteria during the third weekend in July annually, much like Burning Man's Black Rock City, including streets, neighborhoods, minimal infrastructure and lively nightlife.
