Heyya, I'm whiite and have pin straight hair and have had dreads for over a year now. The best but not for the impatient is the "neglect" method, where you literally leave your hair, wash it with a baking soda mix of a cup of BS and about 4 cups of water.. I suggest you do not use wax :( it does bad things to your hair! But you if you want go to dreadlockssite.com they have tons of info for natural dreads that are all beautiful! :D

    Happy dreading!

Another good wash for dreads is 3 parts shampoo or soap and 1 part baking soda. Gets them feeling even more clean but isn't too lather-y? An yahh, Wax Sucks on white hair doesn't it? :)

Psh if your boyfriend didn't like it then he isn't right for you.

One thing I've learned is that if a guy tries to change who you are then he is not your soulmate, so why change for him??

I've started a couple months ago and had to take them out because I put
wax in them. After hearing a couple of videos I decided to wash them out then
start again so it has been maybe 3 months of dread love :)

I have mildly short hair, I went as far as G.I. Jane and want to continue growing out my hair, my only thought is how to I achieve dreads without the expensive products or without tearing them so they look thin, or even tangled like? I don't want the messy look, but I also don't want to look like a fag with product holding them together. Not trying to call those who use products fags, I do buy stuff that I do not need and if I can avoid the pennies burning my pocket then I would like to know how. Any tips??
