a not so talented singer, but a very good actress. In fact, I wish she had just made more movies, and not worried so much about making it in the music business. Also, I don't think she directly had anything to do with Kurt Cobain's suicide. Although I do think she put too much pressure on him to be more (successful), and he didn't cope very well with that. So I guess I am saying that despite all the chaos that invariably surrounds her life, I think she has a lot of talent. And it's a shame that all the notoriety seems to have caused her to take a step back from the movie industry. So does anybody else like (or hate) Courtney Love?

    Peace,

I love her voice. She scream in a very exciting way. It gets my adrenalin flowing. Kurt Cobain that the same for me. They are so Raw.
And I think she is a great actress. But she basicly played herself in The people vs Harry Flint.
And she is a littlebit crazy, I think. Sometimes in a negative way.

Yeah, but she screams so much (in her songs) that I can't understand what she's saying most of the time. LOL. At least with somebody like Janis Joplin (another great screamer) I could usually understand what the song was about. Anyway, I do like her as an actress. And I wonder why she's not doing more work?

I grew up with a huge admiration for Kurt Cobain and Nirvana, they are still one of my favorite bands, even if none of the other music I listen to sounds anything like them. They were there for me through teenage angst and back. I've read almost every book and article I can get ahold of about Courtney, Kurt, Francis Bean, Krist & Dave. I personally have mixed feelings about Courtney Love, In one aspect she's a fucking amazing songwriter and decent actress, I have to say I'm not too fond of her acting skills, but I definatly know Hole didn't get the attention they deserved, especially when 'Live Through This' came out. Courtney is a 'strong' woman, but she's also weak. I think every crazy broad out there can identify with her, but that still doesn't do much for me. I can't stand to see anymore of her, I'll go as far as to say that I wish she would OD and get it over with, that way her and Kurts daughter Francis has a chance at a descent life.
I also must admit that I'm a firm believer that she was in on Kurts murder. Sure when I was younger and he died (I was 9 at the time) I figured he must have commit suicide because the 'evidence' was there and besides he's a 'troubled person'. Almost ten years later and tons of investigation on my part, I say bullshit! Ever see Kurt and Courtney the Sundance movie? If not it's definatly a must see. Why this hasn't been resolved is beyond me. The suicide note is un-believeable, the P.S. at the bottom is clearly not Kurts writing, and the rest of the note doesn't even look like a suicide note. Not to mention, the ammount of drugs found in his body wouldn't have allowed him to be able to even shoot himself with the shotgun, They also did measurements and found it would have been extremely difficult if not impossible to shoot himself with a shotgun. It looks fishy, I just hope Dave and Krist take that bitch back to court and stick it up her ass, she needs to be put away or taken out, especially after what happened with his journals, she has no respect for Kurt.

I think the "murder" is a bullshit conspiracy theory and people just can't except the fact that he killed himself, even though everyone knew it was going to happen. I was 7 when he died, and my feelings was that it was a miracle he lasted as long as he did.

Maybe you should do some research on a topic before you spout off on something you obviously know nothing about. Just a thought.

Hey, thanks for the awesome link. I appreciate it much. Yeah, I saw Kurt and Courtney (when it first came out), and it did sorta make me wonder. But the truth is this: I honestly don't think even Courtney could be cold blooded enough to murder her own child's father. She knew his death was gonna be the worst thing that could ever happen to her little girl. In addition, every time a major rock star dies young (Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, etc.) a lot of fans choose to believe some kind of murder took place. And even though I do believe that evidence was changed and played around with (mostly because drugs were involved, and a few people were trying to cover their own asses), Kurt had already tried to take his own life more than once, and was actually saved by Courtney on at least one occasion! So that doesn't sound like somebody that wants to see her husband dead ASAP. But many folks still believe he was murdered. And it doesn't help matters much that Courtney has almost as many enemies as she does fans. She really has stepped on a lot of important toes. Anyway, that's my thought on the matter. Thanks again for the awesome link. I'll take a long peek at it, and see if there's any additional info I am unaware of. (So did you ever like to listen to Alice in Chains? I like them almost as much as Nirvana.)

    Peace,

    PD

Yeah, I definatly hear you out on that thought process, I've gone through the entire scenario so many times in my head (seriously I was obsessed with this case) I know that nobody wants to believe their rock idol killed themselves, but as the years go by I can't believe he did. He may have eventually, but I believe he was murdered, and until cold evidence proves he wasn't...I dunno.
I am sure you'll see some stuff on that website that you weren't aware of... a lot of it is hard to believe.
Yeah I listened to Alice in Chains a lot, and I still love them... tons of other grunge bands as well... It was the first type of music I got into by myself as a kid...I'll always have a place in my heart haha =)

Kurt killed himself. I've seen the websites and the "Kurt and Courtney" movie, and there is still no doubt in my mind that he killed himself. If you've ever read "Heavier than Heaven", you'd know that Kurt had suicidal tendencies since he was a young teenager. I've found that most people who believe Courtney killed Kurt never liked her anyway, so of course they're going to proclaim that Kurt couldn't have killed himself.

And yes, I love Courtney. No one denies she has her share of problems, but I think last year's meltdown woke her up and helped her to realize that the last thing Frances needs is 2 dead parents. She's currently filming a movie about Linda Lovelace's life (the woman who starred in "Deep Throat"); she plays Linda.

I read Heavier Than Heaven. And I agree--Courtney has A LOT of people that hate her, and many of them would like to blame her for Kurt's suicide. Thanks for reminding me about the Linda Lovelace movie. I hope Courtney is able to finish making it, and a few people will be reminded of just how much talent she has. Instead of just trying to find fault in her personal life.

    Peace,

    PD

I don't think she's that great of an actress, because all I've seen her play is a junkie, and now she's playing a porn star...neither one a stretch at all fo rher. She's not a bad actress.

I believe its certainly poissible that she was involved in his death. People are tired of hearing abou it so they say things like "he killed himslef, get over it" but in reality there are lots of loose ends to the case.

I lived out in Seattle for about 7 months in 1993, and actually met a few junkies that were around Kurt Cobain and Courtney from time to time and said she was constantly bossing him around and dragging him in and out of places....everything I've ever heard points to her being a domineering control freak.

He seemed pretty happy about being a dad, seems strange that he would kill himself at that point but who knows.

I thouhgt "Kurt & COurtney" was pretty damning...as well as the interview with Tesco Vee, who she allegeldy tried to hireto kill him.....his death certainly worked in her favor, there is no denying that...his death coincided nicely with the release of "Live Through This" which became a huge hit.

I fully agree with you seamonster, Courtney isn't that great of an actress, she usually ends up playing herself in movies (or close to it) because she's already a junkie/psycho/attention whore.
Kurt was very happy with being a father, so happy I can't stand to believe he actually would have shot himself knowing exactly who would be raising his daughter. Courtney IS a controlling money hungry bitch.
Not to mention look at Kurts bandmates Krist and Dave...they can't even be in the same room with her let alone talk to her, that says a lot about a person.

Please, listed to Cobain's lyrics. "I swear I don't gotta gun." (an obvious lie, as on more than one occasion his guns had to be taken away from him) and an almost constant fascination with death. The man ODed too many times for them to be accidents. Kurt had a death wish, which he got in the end. No murder, just a man, in chronic pain, who couldn't get help.

He would have been better off if they had left him alone and let him have his Methadone. He would probably be alive if it wasn't for that ridiculous "Intervention."

Yeah, this is how you have to be with junkies, or they don't fuckin MOVE! Kurt was suicidally depressed. The most dangerous time in a suicidal depressed person's life is when they start to "get better" the death wish, which they had no energy to enact at the bottom of the pit, suddently is workable, and often that makes them very happy. He actually fits the profile, psychologically, of a Classic Suicide.

I still say that even Courtney could not be cold blooded enough to destroy her own child's life like that. I mean, Frances will always be haunted by the fact that her father is an infamous suicide. Also, if Courtney really wanted Kurt dead, then why did she go to the trouble of saving him when he ODed? And that happened at least once. Wouldn't it have been a simple thing for her (if she truly wanted to see him dead) to simply let him die from an overdose, and not have to be blamed for his death? And as far as her acting skills--well, a lot of "actors" seem to be just playing themselves in the movies. But they can still be compelling. Julia Roberts is a perfect example.

    Peace,

I agree with you. Also, he was in a lot of physical pain (as well). He had been to several doctors about his chronic stomach problems, and never found any relief. Except when he was on heroin. I think it all just finally became too much for him.

    Peace,

Yes, the poor man was in physical and emotional pain. It is sad that his life ended. It was just a few years before doctors actually started taking chronic pain seriously. I am sorry Kurt didn't stay around to see these days and to get help for his pain.
