It's the time of year, it is what it is.. I live on a bit of a hill so I won't flood, but, I over look a football/rugby pitch, so my flowers and plants will be destroyed.. oh well, they grow again..

I don't understand weather, which is why I normally tune out to weather warnings, but couldn't ignore Irma. :blush5: I don't understand why we have hurricane ''seasons'' ...like what is the earth doing only at certain times of the year, that bring about storms? It could also be due to climate change, Idk.

I noticed the carribean had hurricane seasons centuries ago as well. But yeah, its a temperature thing. Hurricane season is always in summer and hurricanes tend to move away from the equator

I think the idea is that hurricane season corresponds to generally higher ocean surface temperatures, because that's part of what creates and sustains hurricanes.

Global warming could be a factor in producing higher ocean surface temperatures, but there would be hurricanes with or without it.
