Nope, wrong country but I like to hear about camping so how do you do it and what did you bring and how is your set up?

I'm camping in a few months and I've everything planned already and I'm really excited.

Just did a one-nighter this time... so we just brought the basics... couple of tents, a small grill, some food/beer, lanterns, flashlights... brought some low key hiking gear to walk the trails... it was short and sweet but a good time

four hours? wasn't there anywhere closer for a one nighter? you would have spent almost as much time driving as you did camping...

I didn't know how far it was ha ha... My friend suggested it and I agreed... yeah... would've at least put in a pitch for a second night if I knew that going in... the whole thing was last minute...

...I would go again though because it was a nice quiet place... only next time for longer

When I used to go camping as a kid we would catch migrating eels in ditches and fry 'em up.

Anything that slithers around without legs freaks me out lol... that is my one exception to all of my outdoor appreciation

Yes I admit, fried eels are something of a delicacy. Best to start with whelks or cockles.

Tent camped in the area and north of there. But never used the state campground there. If i remember correctly it's more or less due west of Lake Placid .
