I often humor trolls of many types.
The worst that happens when you humor a troll is that they imagine themselves clever, or get whatever strange joy they were seeking with their trolling. The danger of not taking seriously someone's claim to be on their deathbed is much greater, even if the chance of that claim being true is slim. Even trolls die real deaths eventually.

I have to admit though, it didn't make much sense to me that a well-known member would make false claims, even though I was warned.

I did know that much about her, but interacted with her every now and then. She seemed troubled, but mostly nice. I guess other people who knew her better understood her capacity for extreme attention seeking.

In any case, I wish her well. Hopefully she can get off drugs and be a good mom.

As much as I was irritated by her antics, I don't see much of a reason to begrudge someone the attention (or troll lol's) they were so desperately in need of.
